Of all things i've tried, i was very skeptical with this. For the past 2 years, i hit a wall in weights loss. I run 15-20 miles a week, 3-7 miles for 4 days of cardio. I lift heavy in the traditional body building way and do metcons about once a week. So that's 5 days of working out with a mixture of cardios, weights and metcons. I was stuck at 178 lbs for two years with a 10% bodyfat. My diet is decent with one cheat day a week. I rarely supplement with proteins. So... after one week of trying this, I loss 8 lbs. My run times are faster, my maxs in weights has increased, and my sleep is much better. Thank you so much. I'm 5lvs away from my target weight.
Coming from a fitness professional such as myself, I have to say that your dedication to everything you’ve mentioned is great but it’s too much! There is such a thing as overtraining and not allowing your body to adequately recover from its previous training stimulus. First of all, stop with all the steady-state cardio that you’re doing. The best and most proven way to burn the most body fat, boost your metabolism and maintain as much lean body mass as possible, is by doing high intensity interval training or HIIT. You should really look into! To summarize it, you spend way less time and days performing it, you can perform it on a number of different cardio equipment (treadmill, bike, elliptical, stair master etc), and because of how intense you have to work at, it triggers an after burn effect, which basically means that even after you’ve stopped working out, you’re body is still burning off calories 24-48 hours! Hence why it’s way more effective in long term fat loss.
You probably have high cortisol due to stress on body that’s stopping fat burning. Try to relax more and be mindful of stress signs. Lower your training intensity and see if that helps. I lost close to 15 Ib by following dr Mark Hyman’s relaxation routine every day even though I was just doing walks in the morning and minimum weight training.
I do this every morning and have been following your advice about intermittent fasting and have lost 65 lbs in 4 months. Obviously I had a lot to lose but my body is responding incredibly. My morning drink is: 8-12 oz h2o 2 tbs Braggs organic Apple cider vinegar Juice of 1/2 lemon 1 tsp cream of tartar 1/8 tsp pink Himalayan salt 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper 1/8 tsp ground ginger A little stevia to counter the tart/heat. I chug it down and am ready for the day. Thank you for all your tireless work in helping so many achieve a healthier lifestyle. Your videos are informative, fun and so very positive. Subscriber for life.
You are my fave youtuber for nutriton and exercise advise! I need to lose 40 pounds and your videos really motivate me to stay in track. I´ve been kind of trying to lose weight and exercise since last year but it wasnt till December 2015 that I really really commited to a healthy lifestyle. I watch your videos over and over and follow your advice. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience with us. You are one of my key motivators in this journey to a healthy lifestyle and a healthy fit body.
Bela Palomo that's great that you find motivation but I would advise you pick your sources of info carefully because detox drinks don't do anything examine.com/nutrition/detoxes-an-undefined-scam/
J-Stilt 9 you're a fking looser. That's what you are. 😂 Just kidding. This guy made a living out of nutrition and exercise. It is unfair to compare yourself to him. Also, It's never too far down the road to reverse an unhealthy lifestyle. The body is an incredibly good self repairing machine. We only need to create the right conditions.
I personally am a strong believer in intermittent fasting. Drinking this 1st thing has been an amazing contributor to my overall health and physique! I've been using stevia drops, also add Camu Camu and ginger as well. During my walk through fitness, I have found out that overall gut health is vital in achieving a healthy lifestyle. Thank you Travis for all these awesome videos!
I use something like this. The black pepper ingredient is what helps the absorption of the turmeric. www.naturalhealthyconcepts.com/golden-milk-G105gr.html?afd_number=27141&gclid=Cj0KEQjwsO6-BRDRy8bsxfiV2bkBEiQAF8EzKFs796g8qpftolivext3UCrVWJLIC2mbA-y3DdS0UgoaAora8P8HAQ#product-info nutritionfacts.org/2015/02/05/why-pepper-boosts-turmeric-blood-levels/
Nick Provost Thanks for the link. It looks like a great product! Yes the black pepper helps with absorption which is why I include it when I cook. But I wonder how well the turmeric is absorbed with the morning tonic?
Been doing this drink for 2 weeks now. Very easy to do, cheap and makes me feel awesome. The first week I lost 7lbs! I couldn't believe it. Been losing steady since. Thank you Tom for sharing your knowledge! This is amazing and I wish I knew about this sooner! Love the energy and how I feel everyday using this little drink!
I LOVE it; it makes me feel so much better. Finished the 7-day detox, never felt hungry, feeling only better and better, and I lost 2,5 kg!!! (About 5 lbs). Today I start he 6-weeks programme.
I've been doing this in the morning for the past 3 weeks. I've grown to love it. I'm curious how long you should wait to eat your actual breakfast after drinking this? Thanks.
John R Savage GB.Every morning I have lemon with organic apple cider viniger and ceyen pepper now nearly 70 years of age and I feel that this is the absolute drink to start the day. My fat level has reduced and from an health perspective I feel that this combination of ingredients are vital to great health and longevity
I actually make a very similar drink, So I use Half a lemon, 2 table spoons of apple cider vinegar (With mother). But I also add in 8g of a Green fusion powder, (Spirulina, Barley, Wheat Grass, Chlorella) & 2g of N Acetyl Cycsteine (Liver support) But now I'll also add in some cayenne pepper for that added boost in metabolism! I'm loving your content!
I have been doing something similar. Before I go to bed I boil about 26oz of water and then add a green tea bag, 1-2 dashes of cayenne pepper, and then I grate some rind off of half a lemon that was frozen from last mornings drink. Then in the morning I squeeze in half a lemon (putting the new/used lemon peel in the freezer for the tomorrow's drink) and throw it back. Then it's 90min before my first meal or pre-workout. I've been taking apple cider vinegar in the evenings with 20oz of cooled herbal tea before bed. I'll try adding some to my morning concoction as well. Thanks.
I drink it every morning. I use lemon essential oil, one or two drops then add the rest of the ingredients. My energy is up when I get to work. Not sluggish at all. A couple of my coworkers drink it too.
Good video. After my blood work, my Doctor looks at the results and says that my kidneys are in excellent condition. My 45 year old kidneys Function like a kids kidneys. Even just warm water with Fresh squeezed lemon juice in there and just drink it up quick first thing in the morning at least 2 cups 16 oz every morning. No cyanne Pepper for me. No night Shades for me. My mother grew up in the Caribbean and she always used to tell me that when you're sick to stop having all dairy for 2 weeks at least or until you recover completely. Now I avoid dairy all the time since I went plant based. I do not have all the mucous issues and postnasal drip and runny nose and wheezing at night, like I used to. All because of dairy.
Ps Tom, I do the exact same drink 3 x day. Beginning Keto. I omit the honey dude to sugar. My nostrils are way less plugged up. Tip. Take mason jar... 2 tbs lemon juice, 2 tbs apple cider vinegar, 3 dashes organic cayenne pepper. Film the glass with your favorite crystal lite. You'll like it.
My wife and I have been taking this drink every morning for 3 weeks now. Awesome energy and I'm actually starting to like the taste free from honey. We did add one more ingredient, turmeric! Thanks, keep up the great vids!
lol!! it is going great!! even though some morning my stomach doesnt want it and i am loosing waight!! but it is not just that, i also cut sugar and fried stuffs
If you're delaying breakfast as part of intermittent fasting would this throw that off if you had it first thing? Would it still be of benefit to have this shortly before a delayed first meal or even at some other point in the day?
Just started my detox today the Lemon water I love, and the apple cider vinegar water, with turmeric, Himalayan salt, cayenne pepper is not bad. make a big one triple the ingredients drink 1/2 in am right after my lemon water then the other 1/2 throughout the day.
I make this drink, minus the apple cider vinegar, all the time! Especially when I am feeling like I might be getting sick. Stops the cold in its tracks!
I have been doing this consistently for 5+ months. I use cayenne tincture ( have gotten up to 15 drops). And add a drop of ginger Essential oil. I jug it, no sweetener. I have not lost weight but my ankles no longer swell when on my feet for long time. They always used to swell. I am thrilled and I know it has been great for my circulation.
Tiffini Paraboo just ran across this, turmeric is fine in moderation, as to much turmeric has been seen as the culprit showing up in more emergency rooms as the medical community deals with more cases of liver damage and failure. If one is good, doesn't make two better.
I add cinnamon, ground ginger and turmeric. I have noticed that my digestion is so much better since I have been taking this. I am not constipated at all now. Also, my skin is amazing now. I don’t get spots and I have the most amazing dewy glow to my complexion now.
A+ all the way. I've been drinking this for a while now, with a little Black Seed Oil added, and my health has improved beyond all expectations. Great for detoxifying the body.
For a number of years now I have been using a similar concoction - add raw garlic, and leave out the vinegar-- to eliminate respiratory infections such as colds. I generally use less water and take it at the first sign of dis-ease and before bed. It usually knocks it out immediately. I also have found that vinegar (raw, unfiltered is best) mixed with a little water can cure indigestion/acid reflux, the cause of which is often too little stomach acid rather than too much. I've heard of this drink as a morning elixer before, and I think this time I'll try it. Thanks
Thanks Thomas, I’m always open for new data. For quite a few months now, I’ve been taking two tablespoons of great quality extra virgin olive oil, the juice of half a lemon, a very small dash of Himalayan salt, and a dash of Cayenne in the morning on an empty stomach…and just started working out with dumbbells in the morning. I do consume (sometimes) one small mug of coffee as well. I will try your suggestion this week. Keep the information coming.
Hey Thomas. Love the channel. Thank you for all of the great advice. One quick question... I am currently on a 20:4 ratio of IF. You say to drink this drink in the morning in the video, so does this mean since I am doing IF, that I should instead break my fast as my first meal? Or should I still have this in the morning, and it doesn’t actually break a fast? Appreciate you clearing that up!
started IF keto 16/8 3weeks ago with moderate exercise and am down 20 lbs. I do ACV and lemon in the morning with vitamins for the day. hopefully I don't plateau any time in the near future.
at one point in that video i mentioned he says "fasting is not eating, eating is not fasting. we need to make sure that we are not consuming ANY calories during our fasting window. period"
I already drink apple cider vinegar out of a shot glass with water about 3/4 full of vinegar then add water to top off then drink about 5 shots of water to kinda sorta dilute. Not really noticed any significant change this way yet after about a month and a half so will be trying this starting tomorrow. Thanks
I have been doing this for a long time, but stopped, it works!! My Mom has a lemon tree so I grab bags of lemons squeeze and fill ice cube trays, freeze and put into a zip lock bag. So in the morning I pop a two tbls cube in my drink, vinegar and cayenne, I am off to the races
Because I found this drink pretty gross, lately in the morning I've meet mixing the apple cider vinegar and lemon and cayenne pepper with my protein shakes. That way I barely taste it. Will the shakes have a negative effect on the ingredients in the video?
3 Questions: 1. I would like to know if I'm getting even more benefits adding one tsp of tumeric w/pepper mixed in tumeric and one tsp of cinnamon (that you have mentioned in other video's) in this morning fat burner drink? 2. Am I diluting this fat burner drink if I down 20-40 ounces of water right afterwards? 3. Is it okay then to drink 2 cups of black coffee with 1/2 tsp of coconut oil in each cup before I eat my breakfast and before I work out? This has always been my morning routine...drink, eat, and then a minimum of 30 min of either yoga, interval training, and/or weight resistance. Thank you for your help Thomas and for your videos packed with lots of great healthy information. 👍🏻😊
I use stevia to sweeten it also I use lemon juice that's in concentrated form and I also use a lemon cordial I buy it in the shops here in the UK its also sugar free and it tastes perfect but I prefer it ice cold in a bottle its great
I just started your Reboot Program, and I'm already seeing a difference. I'm 45 years old and about 35 lbs. overweight. This year I started suffering from acid reflux, and excessive mucus that triggers my asthma. I'm on my second day of the reboot, and I noticed that I don't have any acid reflux, and my mucus production has lessened. It's still there, but I do notice the difference in the amount. The caloric deficit is the only thing that is getting to me. I'm feeling pretty fatigued, but I'm not going to give in. 5 more days to reboot my liver. Thanks for all the info.
I have been drinking this for quite some time now and recently I have added a dash of turmeric and pink Himalayan salt... the salt actually brings out the sweetness of the lemon and vinegar and it tastes rather pleasant to drink
Ricali Ebejer vinegar is an acid. it contains acetic acid typically around 5%. lemons are acidic. they contain citric and ascorbic acid. if you really want to drink something that's alkaline try draino.
pyropheliacFAZED wow spoken like a true uninformed citizen. The Standard American diet has left millions not producing enough acid to deal with digestion and its often why we get acid reflux. Drink some apple cider vinegar if you ever get acid reflux and you will see the reflux totally dissipate as my son in law has. It works.
I've been using this drink every morning for 2 months now and havn't dropped a pound. I even started drinking this three times a day and still no change. WTF???
Mimi Me exactly what I’m thinking. I’ve posted on here and other of his videos with questions I’d like answers to but to date guess what? Yeah that’s right, no replies. Zilch, zero, nil, nothing.
I've done the apple cider vinegar with the lemon twice a day with a keto diet and various supplements and am down 12lbs in a little under two weeks. People be consistent with your nutrition and exercise and it will work in the long run. Also doing a long fast once a week feel great too.
I started this drink yesterday, but use tumeric, and black pepper as well. Instead of honey, I use pure maple syrup. The only difficulty is that it makes me nauseous initially. I usually wait half an hour before I drink anything (except a few sips of water).
Raw organic honey is full of Potassium as is Raw apple cider vinegar WITH the Mother (must shake the bottle until cloudy before serving). One better is to get LOCAL raw organic honey as contains the local pollens so acts to prevent hay fever if taken regularly.
Tina I yeah I think it should be teaspoons as per Dr Bergs advice and since he’s a qualified Dr I’m following his advice. I have this tonic twice a day and don’t want 4 tablespoon total in me! However everyone had their own preferences nothing about AVC and most effective ratio of ingredients has been proven.
12ernie I just do 1 tablespoon ACV because that’s the safest minimum so why go higher? I also kick in cinnamon, ginger and cayenne with a dash of lemon juice twice a day 🙂
I have known about this drink for some time now and that it is a liver detox. I didn't know however, that I could add the pepper to the mix to amp up metabolism. Good tip.
Great video! Thank you:) You can also put an ounce of pure cranberry juice in the drink instead of the cayenne pepper. Cranberry juice is good for the liver (for those people who can't tolerate the cayenne pepper)
Use stevia as a natural sugar free sweetener as well as mixing in a few drops of liquid ionic minerals/electrolytes that will rehydrate you so much faster
I use Stevia extract to sweeten mine. I just use a whole lemon. It works to dissolve kidney stones too. I'll have to try using some cayenne pepper in mine.
Bro you are amazing I am going to promote your channel as much as I can, arent we glad that one youtuber cuts the bull and gets straight down to facts.
A couple of issues with this drink: 1. Even without the honey, this is not ''zero-calorie drink'' since lemon and cayenne pepper contain calories; 2. Apple cider vinegar contains prebiotics which, when exposed to heat, i.e. warm water, are destroyed.
How about adding himalayan salt to the mix? First thing in the morning, I drink 12 to 16 oz of water with a teaspoon of himalayan salt and juice form one whole lemon.... then head to the gym. I add one TBS of Apple cider vinegar to my protein/berries smoothie!!
every morning I have green tea, lime, acv, coconut oil, cayenne, cinnamon and liquid stevia. Right after my workouts on an empty stomach and wait 30 min to an hour before eating. I can't do without it 😌✔✌👍
I do this, but i substitute the apple cider vinegar for water and the cayenne pepper for Kenco Colombian coffee. I also splash some nice jersey full fat milk in. I must say - it makes me feel great!
