I found this video pretty helpful. It looked like the beater bar was scorched from the friction of the bearings as well. didn't hear it mentioned in the video but it's also another pretty good clue that something's gone amiss with the bearings.

Great vid even tho my problem was just one of the end caps wouldn't pull off. I just hammered the metal bar like you did and the cap came off. Saved me some money thanks.

Thanks, great video and very helpful. Is there a washer on the inside or outside of the bearing? When I popped mine out it fell on the floor and I also found a washer . Suspect the washer was lying there before, but want to be sure ...

Hi, I watched the vid about the brush bar bearings, Alec said they are 625 on the clutched version, what size are the non-clutched bearings please? Many thanks in advance.

625 rs bearings for the clutched version and 627 rs bearings for the non clutched.
