Here is the jumper leads I used in the video, for the price they are worth it to do it right, you can buy them here-

So I decided to do some videos on common procedures specific to Fords. This is a must after any engine or transmission repair and you don't have access to a scan tool to clear the KAM manually. Many times the pcm will still be using the learned values and compensating for the problem you just repaired. This procedure is good for all model years late 80's to current but is much more important on 2004+ model years that incorporate a electronic throttle body system. Dual Battery setups require both batteries to be disconnected.

As a fellow FORD guy and a do it yourself er, I would like to personally thank you for your in depth knowledge and step by step instructions on how to diagnose and repair these vehicles! By FAR one of my favorite if not my ABSOLUTE favorite repair channel. My family and I thank you for your service to our country, and I personally thank you for being an outstanding mechanic who's willing to help less advanced mechanics such as myself say "that don't look to bad" and try it!! Keep on doing what's you're doing boss IT HELPS! Peace and continued blessings.

After complaining to my dealer about the random slamming downshifts and hard shifts numerous times, and being told "it's fine", and getting a couple of their factory PCM updates which did nothing, I did this PCM reset and my 2011 Escape drives like new again. It's amazing. Best thing I've done to the car ever. Thanks!

I’ve been chasing a high idle problem for the better part of 6 months and this just fixed it. Almost brought me to tears. Countless hours into my truck(98 f-150) with the 5.4 and this fixed it in 15 minutes. Cannot thank you enough.

My 2010 Escape Limited, 3.0 V6, started having these exact issues with shifting. I did the reset exactly as it's explained here and it worked!! I'm on a limited income so this was a life saver! Thanks a bunch!!!

God is great. I stumbled onto this video accidentally.....I feel like a sweepstake winner right now. I am from Nigeria, been having all kinds of shift and idle problems with my Navigator for about 6 months now. Replaced every sensor, flushed the transmission and replaced the transmission filter..... nothing worked. The mechanics were just milking me. I followed the process just like it says here in the video. That SUV runs better now than when I bought it. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH. ♥️ from 🇳🇬.

DUDE!! Ive been scratching my head for weeks trying to isolate a sputtering issue at 1200-1500 rpms. Changed plugs, wires, tps, maf, fuel pump, checked egr passages, clean intake plenum and runners, CAT o2 sensors all the usual suspects...tested or replaced several things...all showing proper specs. Even watched drive cycles for data with my scan tooln vacuum test, compression test..

Just finished a spark plug and boot change via one of the other videos. My 01 E350 was running like a pile of junk , randomly missing under light load, until I found this video and followed these steps.

"clean up your shop" Now that is some great advice! Thanks for all your videos. I try to watch other Ford forums but increasingly it is the blind leading the blind.

Dude, after replacing my battery my Ford Fusion 2009 with no longer accelerate at all. I was about to have to shell out several hundred dollars for replacement throttle body and who knows what else and I came across your video and boom, worked like a charm. The car is not only running, but running better than before! Your videos rock!

I finally did this to my project 99 Ranger 4.0 OHV after servicing transmission valve body, throttle body, air intake, MAF sensor, changing plugs, and repairing a fairly major vacuum leak. It drove ok and I was reluctant to reset, fearing some sort of new problem. So glad I forged ahead. Amazing overall improvement. Idle and shift much much better now. Thank you very much for taking the time to make these useful videos.

FordTechMakuloco You are THE MAN. I bought a 2006 Ford Fusion for $1300.00 on 5/7/18 with 141K miles. The transmission was hitting hard from 1st to 2nd, not as hard from 3rd to 4th. shops where telling me a new transmission at a cost of $3,000.00 to $4,000.00. This video just saved me a FORTUNE!!!!! I can not thank you enough for posting how to reset the PCM. I don't think I'll have to replace the TCM now. ROCK ON!!!!!

3 days ago I cleared the memory on my 2008 F250 per your video. Oh my goodness, what a difference! It now shifts more intelligently, making it easier on the 5.4 motor. I carry about 1600 pounds of construction tools every day and have been using the tow/haul mode most of the time. Not any more! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I appreciate you!

Just had my transmission fluid flushed on a 2012 Ford Escape 4 Cylinder AWD and it was shifting at 3k-3500 RPM's on certain gears, namely between 2nd and 3rd. Went through this process and it's shifting smooth as silk on all gears at approximately 2500 RPM as it should (3k if I'm going uphill). The fuel economy has improved as well! Thank you!
