Also have random intermittent P0299. Feel like it's part of Abarth ownership, lol. Only triggers the code when the engine is slightly lugged, usually when cruise is set and I am too lazy to downshift for a slight incline. I'm also 85% sure my actual issue is just worn out intercooler pipes. Previous owner had a ziptie down there and that's never a good sign, lol. Informative video though!
I just took the entire front end off my car to figure out why it has been mysteriously going into limp mode. The line running to the boost pressure control system was cut. Im guessing when I took it in to get my oil changed. Now I hope I can remember how to put it back together.
Jacobi Miller could be overboosting and causing limp mode for safety reasons, try untuning first see if it does it without the tune and then you can go from there. Maybe tune adjustment, maybe wastegate, maybe boost leak.
same here actually...car runs perfectly but if i WOT under 3k rpm i get the code...i feel like that honestly didnt happen at all when i bought the car and then it started acting different when fiat replaced my "purge solenoid" and flashed my ecu...it removed whatever tune came with the car (bought it 1 year used) and i thought tork tune was what it had because i tried EC and it wasnt that one...long story short, while ec had a bit more responsive throttle everything else sucked imo and tork is nice but still i have the same sluggishness under 3k rpm still it didnt really fix it...i also replaced my turbo a while back lol FML ...at this point the ONLY thing i can think of is the wastegate solenoid (boost solenoid)...since fiat claims they replaced my purge solenoid that couple years ago, brand new turbo, silicone lines...cant think of anything else..
Hi there, I am having some problems with this right now. On stock tune nothing happens. but after Phase 2, my turbo have a metalic. rattling under full boost around 4000RPM, with a P0299 code.
K Li metallic rattle? Have you checked to see if your turbo is still in tact no bent fins? Also did you flash it right? Mess with the wastegate at all? That’s kinda tough without seeing it in person but I’d check to see how the turbo itself is. When you add more power to one thing it puts strain on components. Feel free to dm me or shoot me an email @cali_company_01
I have the same problem with my abarth sometimes it do that but when I switch the car off and start it on it go normal and boost normal what do u think can be the problem
Jts Builds its factory i was thinking of changing it but with this I can’t till i fix the problem . It doesn’t come always once of 6 and when i just switch the car off and one its come normal?
yaqoob Al Saudi the reason I ask is cause the factory smic has multiple leak points for boost to leak out which would give you the code. Or improperly adjusted wastegate or bad wastegate spring.
Ricardo Garcia mine actually dropped boost completely after about 10psi the throttle shut. I had a boost leak as well as a faulty sensor, also the wastegate could be improperly adjusted on your car as well, any questions I’d be glad to help!
Hi! Great video! im driving my '13 500 abarth cross county. Check engine like when on day one into the drive. was able to take it to a dealership. air filter was filthy. changed air filter all seemed fine. second day into my drive through the desert, check engine light went on again. same code " turbo under boost." was able to take it to fiat in las vegas. tech is looking at the car tomorrow. Ill make sure to ask about a boost leak test and to check the wastegate solenoid. Thanks to your video!
Mario De Palma solenoid or boost leak, hopefully not anything turbo internally. If you happen to be in the La area feel free to check out my Ig. Dm I can always give it a look through!
@@jts_motorsports thanks! im actually headed the other way. im stuck in a hotel waiting till tomorrow. I hope it's not internal. surprised the fiat in reno didnt figure it out? maybe they just figured since the air filter was filthy (they found a rodents nest) that that was the problem. do you know if heat has anything to do with it? during my drives its been about 95 t0 104 degrees and 5-8 hours of driving. anyway thanks again!

@socalmotorsportswest please tell me how you removed the vacuum like that’s attached under the turbo there’s no way to see the clip and not even small pliers fit in this tiny shitbox of a car 😡
