I totally recommend getting the broth up to a high boil, assemble everything in your bowl (noodles on the bottom then meat and veg), then gently pouring the broth on top. The way I remember pronunciation is that when a new place in my city opened called "Pho King" opened and you called to order, they would pronounce it correctly. Nothing like someone picking up the phone and saying "Pho King can I help you?"

I think introverts would really appreciate guides like this on how to eat and order/ pronounce things. I still get nervous to order at new places

Protip on pho noodles, ask them to send the noodles uncooked instead. The noodles have a much better texture, exactly how they come out when you're eating at the restaurant vs having them poach it in advance and letting them get a little soft and soggy. You'll just need to boil some water, dunk the uncooked noodles for 15 - 20 seconds (time could vary depending on brand/quality of noodles), quickly strain and put into bowl with heated broth. It's extra extra effort but imo is totally worth it!

Vietnamese food is the best! In vietnam, people would name their stores depending on the specialty of the restaurant and the street number. In this case it’s pho and com (rice in Viet). And the number 99 which is probably their store number. Shoutout to all my Sydney Vietnamese aussies on here!

straight up A+ for the pronunciation. Even a Vietnamese guy like me have to clap hands everytime you say Phở. You have absolute nailed the technique but I would recommend you squeeze a little bit of lime juice and a bit of sate, the taste elevation is going to be much higher. If u dont want ur raw beef to over cook, I would recommend not putting in the cooking broth when your heating it, but put the beef into ur bowl before you dump toppings in, after you've poured the broth in. Its scolding so it'll cook quickly

I live in a very rural area, so it wasn't until yesterday that I was able to find an actual Vietnamese restaurant for the first time ever that I just HAD to check out (yes we traveled to see the eclipse and it was INCREEEEEDIBLE!!!!!) I ordered pho just because of this video ❤❤❤ even though I was very tempted by the Bahn Mi 🤣 so getting to see my first total eclipse and then finishing off the day with my first ever Vietnamese food with pho was such an absolutely unforgettable experience 🤩🤩

Hi Martina! Thank you for featuring Vietnamese food! It doesn't get enough of the hype that it deserves!! The way that I prepare take out phở is a little different. First I would set the broth and brisket into a pot and let it get to a rolling boil (You want it HAWT). While that is cooking I would microwave the noodles for about 30-60 secs. This prevent the noodles from being overcooked and soggy. Then I would add the raw beef slices into the bowl with the noodles and then pour the boiling soup over the noodles and raw beef. Because the beef slices are so thin it would be cooked instantly without it being too overdone.

Yay!! Love the foodie content! The first and only time I had pho, I was in Greeley, Colorado! They also served raw jalapeno peppers as a side. It was a major pain day, so I enjoyed mine for a minute as it came and made it so spicy the other people I was with couldn't handle it, lol. Oops. I also had mine with brisket, tendon, and tripe. I ordered the wrong one by mistake. I will say, though, that even though I had never had any of this before, I LOVED IT. Still crave pho. It had been almost 3 years!

Hi Martina! I'm Vietnamese and this is how my mom orders pho take out. She asks for the tai (thin beef) raw and the noodles raw as well. She'll cook the noodles separately like pasta in boiling water, but no salt (pho noodles cook pretty fast). She'll assemble like this: hot cooked noodles, cooked beef/tendon/etc., raw beef, and pour over hot broth. The broth will cook the raw beef perfectly so it won't get over cooked. The hot broth will warm up the other meat too. Ugh, so good!
