Mine crashes whenever I boot up any mod, and it says I'm missing water droplet, and zombie shock overlay textures

moved my files to documents in a new waw folder and then upon startup clicking the exe file in the waw folder in documents it says application error and a bunch of numbers

Mine crashes when I click Host Lan. If I try joining a LAN game it freezes for a second and comes back to normal but still won't join it. Any ideas?

Try this: Open your cod waw file. Right-click the cod waw application and click properties. Click compatibility and check the box to run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows XP (service pack 2). Also, check the box to run this program as an administrator. Click apply and then try to start the game. It worked for me hopefully it works for you :)

okay guys so if you have razer installed on your computer click the arrow pointing upwards near your sound settings with the little speaker after that you should see a razer logo right click on it and exit cortex then try starting up the game i had to look pretty deep to find this out

Yeah, I got this game on steam for my dad but my goodness it was badly ported for PC and would freeze midway through the beginning animation. We couldn’t figure out how to fix it so he somehow got a refund and downloaded another game that was properly ported to PC. I tried getting help from COD forums and damn they were assholes saying my dad shouldn’t play because he doesn’t know how to get it working. Honestly the company has gone downhill in terms of supporting PC players

ive gotten this twice and this solution did not work, but what did work for me was downloading it uninstalling it and then try again it doesent work i repeat that process and it works.

Ok, this is a simple fix. You have to run the Call of Duty World at War program as administrator and set the service pack to Windows XP Service Pack 3, then it should work. If all goes bad, launch compatibility troubleshooter on Windows and follow what it tells you until you get to where the program works. Enjoy your game!

Mine won’t open, when ever I click on it, it does this heart beating type of on and off, is there a way to fix it?

Another thing that works: go to the sound options of your computer (configuration), change the quality of your speakers: right click on it - > properties - > avanced. Change the uqlity to 16bit, 48000 (dvd quality). Save it. Now the game will run. Don't forget to change the sound back to a better quality when you're going to play a different game :)

Just tried this on my PC. Did everything and when I tried to open the .exe file I got an application load error.

If all the suggested solutions do not work, I fixed mine by disabling UPnP in my router settings. You can enable it again when you're not running WAW.

Tried this. When I clicked the application it came up with that error 500000. So I placed Steam executable in the same folder and then I faced the same problem of startup crashing.

This works even with the cracked version, lmao.

If this solution didn't fix it for you, I just reinstalled the game in a different directory to my default steam directory, and everything works fine now.

if anyone is having issues and has valorant. disable the vanguard anti-cheat. i had issues with it before, it would crash my msi afterburner and it wouldnt read my gpu. so i decided to try disabling the anti cheat and see if it worked for world at war...it did. im now back to full on launching my game and playing instead of ctd

Got this same error, all I did was go to the CoDWaW.exe file , right clicked to properties, compatibility tab, and run the program using Windows XP (Service Pack 2). I am using Windows 10 64 bit. Works fine so far!

I had the same problem and none of these worked for me. But what does work is if u have razer cortex installed on your pc, it tries to “optimize” waw and that is what causes crash for me. So go to cortex and remove waw from the list of games to “boost”. If even that doesn’t work then try uninstalling razer cortex all together to see if it works then
