Today I'm talking about creative brains that lack focus. What a lot of artists do is they throw everything including the kitchen sink at their social media and other websites in the hope that it will show a very wide and diverse range of skills. What it actually does is make us look more amateur. And also it confuses the hell out of our customers.
It's having that focus on your end goal. What is it you want to achieve, what business looks feels right For me, it might not be the same as anybody else that doesn't matter. It's you that we're interested in, and it's your business that I enjoy helping artists create.

Although laser focus is necessary and great... it can also be taken way to far where you never try anything new; and even get scared to try anything different... I have done the same thing for 12 years strait... now I can't pivot because I'm so stuck in a laser focused rut as my sales are dwindling.

Totally agree. When I’m talking about focus in this context I mean focusing on one idea at a time rather than getting distracted by shiny objects which a lot of us can be. Focus within our creative practise is good (and makes it clearer for our collectors to identify and connect with us) but if there is no experimentation / room for growth then yes it can quickly become a safety net. Do you ever have creative ‘play’ sessions where you just allow yourself total freedom? That might work.

@@amandaheathart Honestly, I don't play around with art as much I use to cuz I'm so busy with my main focus... Play sessions sound like a great idea... Now I just need to make space and time to do it. I'm too focused on the outcome of stuff too... Like if it does not make money, then it feels like a waste of time... But your right... we learn new things from play and my brain is just stiff and ridged from doing business all the time. Thanks for the advice...
