WOW WOW WOW! I absolutely love everything you said about forgiveness not being about excusing the other person's actions, or about trusting them. Forgiveness is about allowing God to work in your heart to get rid of all the bitterness towards them.

YES!! Exactly! Couldn't have said it better myself. It really is such a work God does in our own hearts, it's amazing! So glad you enjoyed this video - thank you for watching & sharing your thoughts! :):)

"Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling." Ive heard this two times in the real strugle i had right now. Its really totally hard to forgive and to love again a person that hurt you. But the choice is in me. Today i will text her. Something that that i think i will never do it again. Thankyou tiffany~ your vlog really streghten me. God bless you.

Forgiveness does not mean you have to go back to the way things use to be. But to forgive is to allow Christ to enter your heart and heal the hurt that that person caused. Its a confession to Christ that you forgive them, even if you still feel that hurt and bitterness in your heart and it's the first steps to asking God to bless that person and heal not just yourself but that person as well. Because when we ask God to bless that person and heal that person, even if we truly don't want to, we open our hearts to Gods healing and love and forgiveness that he supplies us with.

This is so true. Overventing is like poison spewing out. Been there, done that way too many times. Thanks for being real and really helping. I love these talks.

Thanks so much for making this video Tiffany!! I needed that clarification that forgiveness isn't just letting someone walk all over you and it doesn't mean that you have to trust them again but just let go! I also loved how u shared your own struggle!! Thanks for being amazing ❤️

Ahhh you're so encouraging - thank you Kristin!! I'm so glad this video spoke to you. That was definitely one of the hardest parts for me - learning that forgiveness was different from trust. Always love hearing from you!!

Thank You for sharing your wisdom. For over a year I've been battling with this bitterness and pain in my heart for a couple people who betrayed me and hurt me badly. For the longest time I would allow them to walk all over me because I believed that's what forgiveness meant. I believed that forgiveness was a feeling and not a confession to God. That forgiveness meant that all the pain and anger will completely dissapear as soon as we tell ourselves we forgive them. Deep down I realized that I was looking for the same person who hurt me, to heal me, instead of God. I was hoping they would appologies and realize that what they did was not okay. Deep down I was hoping that they would change their ways and love me like I loved them. This was a never ending cycle for over a year that the devil kept me trapped in. Unforgiveness is something that the devil uses to keep genuine Christ seeking christians trapped. It's something that will keep us stuck in this cycle and stunt our growth with God. I would let it all out and vent not just to friends and families but to the person who hurt me, making my image look really bad, believing that if I just let every hurt and pain that was on my heart out that I would FEEL forgiveness. I've heard pastors tell me that it's not that we can't forgive, it's that we don't want to and that forgiveness is a choice not a feeling, which is all beautifully true. It's not that we can't forgive, it's that we don't want to. Forgiveness is a choice not a feeling. Still I would feel this anger towards them. So if your reading this and you've been stuck in the same cycle as me, just know it will be okay. But know that only christ can relieve you of the pain, hurt, and bitterness you've been feeling. It's a walk with Jesus that I've been on. Because of this video I've asked God to bless my enemies, to bless those who hurt me. I've told Christ that I don't want to forgive them but I forgive them because I need to and for God to bless them in every way and heal them, give them joy and peace, and most of all, get to know the love and forgiveness of Christ, just as I have.

This is literally everything I was going to say! ... gonna have to rethink/rewrite now!! I love your style, delivery, and the quality of the production. This is really good stuff. Biblical content, without being like a lecture. Awesome. Have a great day 👊💀

Sometimes it takes continuous forgiveness over the same situation. When the pain comes up again, you forgive again, give it to God again. Each time the pain becomes less and less. Yes, over-venting can do more harm than good. Thanks for a great video.

Thank you. I want to walk away from the person who hurt me but I can not because I paid a lot for the course. He made comments that were disrespectful and mean only to me but not to others. I was devastated. I want to quit but I cannot. He does not feel anything and life goes on. I feel like I am the only one who is trapped. I thought it was unfair. I cannot really forgive him. It is hard because I need to rely on him when I have questions. I will try to put the issues into God’s hands because I feel the pain. Thank you for your insights.

I am so working on this. I have been betrayed by close friends and family obviously the friends are no longer in my life. I get so confused about this subject. so said friends I will never trust again and to be honest have no desire to be their friend again. so say I'm working real hard on forgiveness and run into them at a store? do I put a big smile on my face and hug them and spend a minute catching up? that may be what I should do but what are ur thoughts?
@TiffanyDawn
@TiffanyDawn 7 лет назад
+kimbers 123 oh my heart goes out to you! That is so hard - and especially seeing people again who have really hurt you. I don't know if there's a "should do." I think it depends on the circumstance and person. If you're able to smile and wave, that's great. If you're able to ask how they are, that's great. If it hurts too much and you have to go down another aisle, be patient with yourself. Keep asking for Gods help. Forgiveness takes time. I hope this can help in some way. ❤️ Praying for you!
@marjorymsuku9312
@marjorymsuku9312 4 года назад
I think big smile and hug would be a bit much. You'll only feel bad afterwards, and they've already hurt you enough. I think u can just be nice/civil without the big smile. People wont know they've hurt you and need to treat you better if you continue to act like all is okay. Just what I think.

THANK YOU! Thank you thank you thank you. You are so relatable yet just absolutely RIGHT and forgiveness is something I've been struggling with. Particularly, forgiving someone I love.... and you mentioned it in the middle of the video, I don't know if I should forgive and stay or forgive and leave. This is so hard. This is the first video I'm watching of yours and I'm probably about to become an addict. Thank you so much girl

I was just thinking of someone I need to forgive and show compassion for. It can be hard because the things they did are intrusive. I believe prayer, not in blessings (which I should try), but for Jesus to be with them in their time of need/situation. There is always a reason for someone's behavior. Spot on! Thanks for the video.

I am struggling with the same issue that you said. Someone close to me who I can’t just cut off from my life is causing me a lot of trouble and I am really being bitter. Initially i used to ignore it. Later on started complaining about this person to my husband and I ultimately let them know that i had an issue with them treating me like that. Still they continue to do the same and said last day that I hold on grudge just because i cant forget all the incidents and that he/she keeps forgiving everyone and i should learn the same. I don’t understand how can you tell someone after hurting them that i was so great to forgive you, now I expect you to do the same, even when ill continue doing the same. Its affecting me deep. I don’t know how to deal with this.

Hi Tiff, thank you so much for this video. It was so clear. I know as Christians we should forgive, but I didn’t know what that entailed. If the person does it continuously and will always be in your life, does that mean you force a relationship and let them continue their toxicity in your life? And does that mean you have to forget because I can’t forget. This video perfectly explained all of this. Thank you so much and God bless you Tiff!

Thank you so much for sharing this, even though I'm two years late in watching it, haha. 😂 I came here after watching your "What if he's not a virgin" video, but this ended up reminding me of two other guys who ghosted me, each whom I had previously been good friends with and whom I'd liked at some point before. I believe I've forgiven them, since years have gone by and I don't have feelings for either anymore; but being ghosted by them has definitely contributed to my fear of relationships and my tendency to hold them at arms' length (such as with the guy who's interested in me currently who is not a virgin), and I feel like not sharing with them how their actions impacted me is doing them a disservice. It seems like many guys nowadays get away with things they don't realise are rude because girls don't confront them about it (politely, of course). When is confrontation the right thing to do? Likewise, when should we forgive and move on without directly resolving the issue with the person who hurt us? (P.S. If you haven't already done a video on ghosting, I think it would be a great addition to your channel!)
@TiffanyDawn

Oh these are SUCH good questions!!! I'm going to be thinking about these! Because sometimes as Christians we (myself included) think it's not okay to be assertive or stand up for ourselves. We think it's selfish. But that's not true! There's a right way and time and place for that. Thank you!

If you say u fogive someone then the topic came up again and feeling like the situation is happening , the emotions you feel is going to resurface the after wards you will forget it again, does that mean you fully forgiven that person?
@TiffanyDawn
@TiffanyDawn 3 года назад
Oh my goodness YES that has totally happened to me! I think it's so normal for the emotions to resurface! I don't think that has anything to do with forgiveness; it has more to do with our healing journey from the hurt we received. And it's not a "right or wrong" situation; it's just a normal part of the process. I hope that makes sense! 🤗
