THANK YOU! you just saved me so much heartache and money trying to fix this simple issue. without people like you to show us noobs the way we would be lost. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Wow. I had my card formatted wrong this entire time and I was wondering why none of my files were able to be read by my printer. I've been stuck on this problem for a whole 3 days. THANK YOU SO MUCH! The stress is all off of my shoulders now thank goodness. I wish there were a superlike button for situations like this. I appreciate you!!
Hi there, just wanted to say thank you. I've tried several times to format a sd card and only following your instructions has it worked for me. So for the first time in my life I'm printing in 3d. GEEETECH A20M
Thank you good Sir!! Got my first printer today, Ender 3. Built, printing, and waiting for more. This is the 2nd video I watch and its just been smooth sailing!!
im on a time crunch and couldn't print for weeks and my old disk was full but i couldn't erase it so i got a new sd card with bigger storage and it formatted PERFECTLY. im back printing THANK YOU!!
@@moji3812 It worked PERFECT I am so glad because now I can have 1000's of .stl files for my ender 3! My 3d printer came with one already but I wanted 2 so I could make models while printing them. I plug it into an adapter that goes into my MacBook pro
Thank you so much for this. I was getting the Frozen Ender 3 logo screen everytime I inserted the stock SD card that came with the printer. After I reformatted the SD card, it was working again. Phew...I thought my card reader was broken lol.
Wow the allocation unit size was what caused me problems, the default setting was not working. Thanks for showing it in detail so I could get my LCD updated!
Without watching the full video, I immediately subscribed. Love the backround, love your character. Great and informative content. Keep the videos rolling my friend. Love from Europe ❤️🙏🏻
I really think using diskpart is the way to go instead of exclusively using Windows built-in tool. Here are the steps I use. Open a command prompt. Run the command "diskpart" It requires elevated privileges. Accept. Then "list disk" .....followed by "select disk x" where x is the number of the drive. Very important to get this right. You can screw up big time if the incorrect disk is chosen...you have been warned. Then "clean"...then "create partition primary"....this can be followed up with a format command but I don't use that. I then close the window and use the built-in tool to format. This will ensure a proper compliant partition table is created and any partitions errors are wiped out from when it was originally written in the factory. The built in tool is fine for formatting but in my experience can miss fixing the partitions.
thank you, i just bought another ender 3 pro used and i wanted it to have the same software as my main and this video helped, not sure why the printer is so damn picky about sd card size and all of those other settings it need however it worked, thank you....
Something I think that was missed was what type of Micro SD card works best with the 3D Printers out there. Should it be a SD Card or SDHC or XC card? UHS-I U1 or A1 card? Not a dig but just rather certain types of cards work better with the 3D Printers than others.
You are super helpful to me thanks. I just go into 3d printing and lost my og 3D printing card while installing the 2.4.7 motherbord lazzy i know but i got a new card and it works like a dream!!
When formating my card on Windows I don't have the 4096 bytes option only the 8192 b ytes and the one lower from that is 64 bytes. Will it be ok with 8192?
Thank you this was a life saver my micro sd that came with the prrinter decided to die the other night and I couldnt figure out why this one wasn't working either,.
In my experience, if it was not mentioned in the video, have only the bin file on the memory card and nothing else. Every time I have tried to flash the firmware and simply added the file to the memory card with other files on it, I always get the black screen and then the printer will no longer boot up, even after the memory card is removed. It will fix itself though if you remove all other files from the memory card except for the bin file you are trying to flash.
Great video. Why did my CR-10 smart pro print fine until yesterday? I printed something and then changed out the filament to print another file and the screen froze and no files showed on the screen. I bought a new SD card and same issue. Formatting new card now and praying. The printer is only 4 months old. Thanks
Hello DV3D, I recently acquired an Ender 3 Pro 3D printer for a family member. However, I encountered an issue as the printer did not come with an SD card. Consequently, I had to purchase one separately. Could you please provide guidance on how to rectify this situation?
Occasionally after i start a print the printer stops as soon as it is done with the bed leveling step. I'm using a Soval SV03. I will remove the SD, turn off insert SD, turn on, and then everything works again. Hoping maybe formatting the card correctly fixes this for me :) Thank you for the info on this, very helpful!
Another great video like your last one on upgrading ender 3 max. I asked this on last video but not sure you seen it but how would I upgrade with JyersUI and color LCD with a bl touch probe. Thanks again for the great content
Ok 😖my neptune 3 should be here tomorrow, i have a ipad pro, can i slice on my pro ? I DL cura but i cant open file, can i print on my ipad pro, i also ordered a adapter that holds a micro card for my ipad pro ? So confused
Hi! Give Kiri:Moto a look ( grid.space/ ). It's a browser-based slicer, so it *_MIGHT_* work in Safari on an iPad Pro. I have only used it once or twice, from a desktop computer, so I can't offer a lot of advice on it. They do have a video they say is "The Definitive Guide" to using it; give that a watch here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-08795Sj22QE.html
I have a cr10 v3. And my thermistor is lying to me. The info screen is showing information even though it's cool it's showing high temperature. What could be the cause? And when I print something the extruder gets too hot because it's already high in the info screen and the bed doesn't even get hot. Although I checked all the ports for the voltage and it's also good.
I bought a used V2 if I format the SD card do I need to leave anything on it for the printer to work or can I leave it empty and just put the G Codes on it once I do a firmware upgrade? I'm also installing a biqu microprobe bed level sensor do you know if and what firmware I need for it and how to put it on the printer? Do I need to re put all firmware on it to do it or can I just ad the BQ firmware. Thanks
I’m sorry I forgot to Thank You for how to format a 16gig micro SD card for a printer to “see”, So THANK YOU. Since I formatted to fat32 I have no problem
I used a 4Gb micro SD card for the screen but it wouldn't work for the firmware. My 64Gb micro SD card works for flashing firmware, but not the LCD. Go figure. Keep up the great vids.
I'm new to 3d printing. Only been printing for a week and my sd card that came with it now says no files found. I did not copy the files to anywhere else. I have an elegoo neptune 2s. I'm going to get another card but how do I get the files from the old one to the new one or do I not need them?
im having trouble, i dl a file from thingiverse then take that file and copy it to my sd card, but when i go insert the sd card into the 3d printer it wont read the file at all, its like i never put it in there. im using a bambulab p1s, downloading a STL file. i reformated the sd card like this video showed. i want to also add that i am about 1 week into the 3d printing world. thanks
Hi! I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this. You've probably figured this out by now, but the STL file is the 3D model, and you need to use Bambu Studio to convert that into a G-code file. The G-code file contains the instructions to tell the printer how to print each layer of the model, and the process of doing that is called Slicing, because the software is slicing the 3D model into individual layers. There are various options you can choose when slicing, such as how fast to print, how thin each layer should be, and other stuff. Because of the (relative) complexity of that, the printer depends on the slicer to create a set of instructions it can follow, instead of trying to figure it out on its own.
I’ve done everything like you said in the video and my files are still not showing up, is there anything else I can check or should I just get a new SD card all together?
My micro SD card is suck on read only and wont let me reformat. And I cant get it to switch away from read only. The adapter I'm using is a usb stick adapter and it doesn't have a lock on it like the ones that look like larger sd cards.
So my sd card when i put it in my computer freezes everything and i got a new sd card but the files i put on it wont show up on my ender 3 s1 if you could help would be greatly appreciated
i have a chromebook and the sd for my anycubic mega pro has the actual manual on the sd and my computer wants to erase the info before reformat like you explained. how do i retain the info before format? it wont even let me open it before format.
I will be upgrading my E3V2 firmware to Jyers. I have yet to install my BLTouch, do I have to install the Stock V2 BLTouch firmware, before going to the Jyers BLTouch 5x5? Or will the Jyers BLTouch have everything I need?
