How To Get And Use Time Warp In Steam VR - Asynchronous Re-Projection Review

In this video we talk about the recent update to the steam VR beta which brings asynchronous re-projection to open and Steam VR.
Asynchronous Re-Projection is of course valves version of Oculuses tried and tested Asynchronous Time warp which though not as good as the more recent Asynchronous space warp is a huge step in the right direction for those of us playing not made for VR games like simulators or those of you with slightly slower PC's
Watch the video to find out how to get and use Asynchronous Re-Projection and when its better to use the classic interleaved re-projection.

GamerMuscleVideos since I've got your attention, have you done a video about enabling supersampling? I'd be interested in seeing how you're dealing with that, as it's not exactly an easy/efficient thing to get working, last I checked.

fozzibab 1) Go to this folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config" 2) open "steamvr.vrsettings" with notepad 3) Where it says "renderTargetMultiplier" : 1.0, 4) change it to say ""renderTargetMultiplier" : 1.5, 6) you could just use chaperone switcher www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/4q4bu3/update_chaperone_switcher_on_the_fly/

Cheers, I wasn't aware chaperone switcher had a supersampling option! Also good to know the file locations. How is it Valve has implemented asynchronous re-projection in the Steam VR beta but not...well basically everything that Chaperone Switcher does? It's kind of important functionality. Hi, I wanted to ask. At 4:45 are you basically saying you can set one SS value for Steam VR normal menu, and another SS value for in a game? Is the "compositor" line for the Steam VR menu, and the "steamVR" line for games? I'm a bit confused. Also, does it mean the values change on the go. Meaning, if you have set menu SS as 2.0, but set the ingame value as 1.5, the value will change from 2.0 to 1.5 as soon as u launch a game?

What is with the "allways on reprojection" function in steam vr? How does this compare to the interleaved? Btw, thanks. First video that i understood how reprojection works👍

Installing and configuring Oculus Rift was correct, the game Marvel Powers of Oculus goes well, the problem arises when I go to SteamVR, it does not load any game. I have to configure a room with SteamVR too? My PC is a Dell Alienware Aurora Intel® Core ™ i5 8400 (6-Core, 9MB Cache), video card, (NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5)

Man how you doing, dude I bought a Oculus Vr and now when I want to play steam PCars 2 it doesn´t lauch inside the rift but on the TV it just shows a message written "Sorry PCARS2 is taking a long time to load..." and just stops there... Someone knows what is happening? Need Help my friends...

Going have to try this when I get home. I run a 970 and in iracing I get a solid 90 fps with my CV1, but with the Vive (yes, I'm crazy and have both) I get a nausea inducing 45 fps. I also feel like the Vive performs worse than the CV1 in other sims like DCS, project cars, and assetto corsa

hey i have a problem . if i play with my wmr over the Revive an oculus game like Arizona sunshine or robo recall, i get bad frame issues if i move my head. it jutters and stutters. do anybody know how to fix my problem?

You will have to go to settings menu. Hit "display vr view". With it open hit shift+a. It will Disable all reprojection on steam vr. This is the only way to disable it on steam now since one of the updates I believe. You can close vr view. You will have to do this every time you open steam. Had the stuttering on assetto and this fixed it. Little late hope this helps

There's a new Dirt Rally Revive patch that adds some new features and allows the use of ATW. I won't get home until later, but could you see how much improvement you get? especially in the rallycross stages?

Bloody hell lol everything has happend in the last 24 hours , ASeetto corsa update, Open VR AST , Microsoft new VR headset for 299 , Who put there head in a microwave ? Literally weeks of nothing aside from a few cool game launches and then 10 things in a single day !!

Same problem with mine.. at least with Rift, which maybe for Rift this doesnt apply anyway.. i get a message about files not being installed that are needed or similar.. basically the performance area is blank

donutmaster - I think in the definition of being English, that mispronouncing beta is allowed. If GM ever mispronounced route(root) or asphalt(ash-felt), he would immediately be banned from being English...

I've just been on the phone to the Oxford Society For English Correctitudes (relatively new organisation that has only existed for 5 minutes and only has one member) they were pretty adamant that saying bayta if you're English is wrong. I'm not going to argue with the Oxford Society because they champion themselves as being a world authority on this sort of thing and they certainly seemed to know what they were talking about. Who's right here? I few random guys on RU-vid or the prestigious Oxford Society I think that's the question we should be asking now.

There's a one-time entrance fee of £485,000 (which is coincidentally the same price as a nice house I've got my eye on). The guy running the society is so busy correcting people's English all over the place he's asked me to operate as a kind of go-between, a treasurer if you will. Before you make your decision (some people think it's a little pricey) remember that you do get charming pen engraved with your initials and an Oxford Society tea towel, so pretty exclusive stuff.
