Summer is here and here are three tips to get lean! These are just some tips that work for us, it may not work for everyone. But check them out and see for yourself. Intermittent fasting is one that we've been using for a while, it's just part of our lives. Move more! Move your body as much as you can by creating daily habits by walking, get up while watching tv, while you're on your phone, etc. "An object that's in motion stays in motion." - Newton's First Law of Motion. And lastly, backpacking. Get out in nature, experience it and be present AND that you're moving all day.

Completely spot on with the intermittent fasting…I am 53 and lean, and didn’t fast from sleep until noon for many years thinking it was a diet, I just wasn’t hungry in the mornings. Most often, I’d have some coffee, tea or water and go about my day, and eat sometime between 11am and 1pm. I just wasn’t hungry. If I eat in the morning now, it may be a banana for the potassium and a few calories.

If you want to get rid of those last few pounds, two or three weeks hiking through the mountains is a great option. Unlike most other forms of exercise it can be sustained for 12 hours a day, and the calorie burn in steep terrain is awesome. It's actually hard to keep the weight on when you tackle a long hike - so losing it is no problem. Of course it's wasted effort if you don't have a sustainable maintenance routine ready to go for when you get home, but while I was transitioning from obese to lean, backpacking played a useful role.

I've been saying this for a long time. I'm 46 and have been lean/strong my whole life. I'm not a gym rat, not that I mind the gym. But I fast regularly and most days I'm snowboarding, bouldering, rock climbing, hiking, paddleboarding, mountain biking. Yeah, I do take care not to eat too much junk but for the most part staying lean is on autopilot just because of my lifestyle. Keep up the good work geting this message out there!

LOVE intermittent fasting. I would like to add that for a woman it is definitely a different experience. Not to be done everyday, always. Instead maybe 1-2 weeks a month for when the menstrual cycle rolls around, time to nourish. When I forget this and intermittent fast a week outside of my cycle, I definitely notice a massive difference in my emotional stability. Something to ponder.

Just found your channel and after watching the backpacking portion of your video I subscribed and hit the like button WOOHOO!!! When I was in my teens I used to backpack in Yosemite National Park as often as I could. The back country is incredible and actually makes up 90% of the park. You’re at elevations of 6,000ft-9,000ft and you definitely feel it because your home is at around 100ft elevation lol. My buddy’s and I would go long trekking for 10 days, 15 days, 21 days and just love every minute of it. Fishing for trout in a lake that’s 8,500 ft elevation is so awesome that words can’t describe it. Get up before dawn so you can climb up a giant granite peak and watch the sun rise. Its rays shooting straight across Nevada and landing on your feet. You turn around to see those rays make their way across the granite peaks and shoot out over the central valley of California all the way to San Fransisco. You’re standing on one of the highest peaks in all of the Sierra Nevada Mts You can see into 2 states at the same time and they have two completely different weather patterns most days. Dry very low humidity air sliding across the vast openness of Nevada. Meanwhile the central valley of California at that time of year is covered with a thick moist layer of fog as far as the eye can see. If you were to drop down under the fog you would find that it’s hanging at about 200-300ft above the ground. Underneath it’s like a dull grey blanket just hanging there with light from the sun making the fog glow like a fluorescent light fixture. People start to get bouts of depression from not seeing the sky or sun for 30,40, even 60 days some year’s. Yet all they have to do is drive up into the foothills to about 3,000 ft elevation which puts them above the fog and into full sun and beautiful blue sky. Great memories even when the bear stole all our food one night lol. Mama bear and two cubs working as a team lol Cheers all

Great to see Boulder again. I lived right next to that building for 2 years when I went to university there. Thanks for the memory flashback.

I have tried some fasting and maybe need to revisit that again.I actually don't eat right away anyway.I have a spiritual practice I do and some chores I do before eating and I usually eat light in the morning. I love camping and hiking and i do a lot of moving landscaping, doing tree work and working out, so I move a lot. I have recovered from shoulder surgery and had some leg issues and I am back at it. I had to do this gradually but I have made tons of progress. I lost a lot of weight since recovery, I hated not moving and being so limited by my injury. Now that I am recovered nearly 100% I plan to start to bike again. I went from 174 to my present 154. I am learner and stronger. You guy have great attitudes. I loved when I lived in Colorado. Thank for the inspiration today!

Really glad I found your videos, spiritually received. I'm doing the morning stretch regularly now and follow a lot of your tips. Introduced your video to my wife and she does some of your stretching too. We're both over 60 so thank you for keeping it simple and primal. 🙉 even practicing your floor rolls. My tip for wet shoes, put heated rocks from your camp fire in em for drying, works really well. 😉
