This is a tutorial on how to quickly kill hyacinth plants. Removing the bulb's outer layers makes it more prone to disease, not less. The outer layer protects the bulb from pathogens! You are also damaging the bulb when you scrape it with a toothbrush like that, which makes it even more prone to disease. In addition, if you want the hyacinth to bloom next year, leave the folliage on until it dies back naturally. Even thought the leaves are unsightly, do not cut it back to the ground. The plant needs that foliage to store energy back into the bulb for next year!

Hello Issy Russell, how are you👋, excuse me, my hyacinth plants are very healthy and the flowers bloom with 2 months, and after the flowers fall off, i plant it in my garden, so that i can reuse it next year, i will show you this. If the plant received a care and love they will grow for ever.

Hi there, only the flowers fall off, sometime the flowers produce new seeds/bulbs. You can plant them in soil and let them grow, next spring you can replant them in water again. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Evelyn! I just bought one propagated into a glass vase from Publix today, do I completely cut the plant down to the bulb once the flowers die??? Or just cut the flowers off once they die and keep the green parts in the water? Or should I plant it?
