Like they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words" -- so thanks for this very thorough demonstration. I finally understand how to make bean sprouts that look like the ones in the store! (And I no longer believe the myth that is being spread about needing huge vats and injections of gas to make them grow big. So thank you for that too,)

The towels got stained from the green skin (hull) of the mung beans. Stains are not "dirty", just discoloration from the beans! Even after washing, the stains will still be there. It makes sense to wash and keep re-using the same towels, otherwise they waste money buying new towels all the time. The "green bits" are the skin or "hulls" of the beans. When the beans sprout, they split and a plant grows out from the bean. The skins of the beans then get loose and fall off. Nobody wants to eat the skins, which taste like little bits of paper with not much flavor (I know, I sprout at home and I tried to eat them once). You CAN eat the hulls for extra fiber but they are not tasty and stick to your teeth.
I like very much the tutorial. Soo interested to try a small scale project. Do you have English tutorial. Can you share please the frequency of watering and drying the sprouts as it grow. Are there any additive required to make a healthy and thick bean sprout. Will the quality of beans affect the success of growing. Thank you for any reply.
Why was one of the rags so nasty looking? It looked like it had mold or algae all over it. Would someone please translate this video? Also, were the green bits she was taking out the seeds to be used to grow more sprouts?
