How to: Honda Civic Oil Change (D16Y8)

In this video, I will demonstrate how to change the oil and oil filter in a 2000 Honda Civic EX with a D16Y8 motor.
[Tools You Will Need]:
•Jack and Jack stands
•17mm Wrench OR
•17mm Socket with Ratchet
•Oil Filter Wrench (optional for removal)
[Supplies]:
•Oil (3.5+ Quarts; 5W-30 or 10W-30 in warmer climates)
•Oil Filter
•Suitable Oil Waste Container
•Optional: rags, gloves, etc.
Torque Specifications:
•Oil Drain Plug 29 lb•ft
Oil Capacities:
•D16Y8 (3.5 US Quarts)
•D16Y7 (3.8 US Quarts)

I've been driving a Honda since 1980. It went to bed because of rust and age. I currently own both a 1992 and a 1997 Honda. Over the life of all my cars I've always changed my own oil and frequently I might add... here's the thing, I've never once changed the crush washer and it's never been an issue.

why are youll using 5w30 .....its so thin ??? in south africa its recommended in the book 20w50 ...multigrade ?

That's the old oil they used to recomand witch is a mineral oil, naw they recomand 10w 30 or 5w30 witch is a part or full sintetic, much better one more km less friction more efficiency!
