That's so true. I fell into the trap of juice fasting and satvik lifestyle a year back. Ended up with irregular periods. Stopped it right away, started eating simple ghar ka wholesome khana with ghee, sugar and evrything. And obviously it did wonders. Thanks to Rujuta ma'am.

Hello ma'am. I came across your videos I watched almost all of them. After watching your videos I realised many things: 1) how wrongly I was dealing with my weight loss journey. 2) as u said, In 2020 I hired a nutritionist for weight loss, since then I am trying to lose weight. I lost weight then gained back again, lost then again gained. This process continues. Recently in 6 months I lost weight (10kgs) but since three months I am not losing further less than ,65kg. 3) since the day I joined nutritionist, I just think of food as carbs, protein fat etc. 4) i am fed up of counting calories, weighing rice and flour and snacks etc. 5) everytime I used to eat more, I instantly used to feel guilty, and started thinking of next day plans, detox. Used to feel stressed and so annoying. 6) this happened not once but many times. After watching your videos I feel so bad about the approach I was following. I was a food lover, Every time I used to eat anything favourite, I was just in guilt, more stress and all. I started hating to party or wedding so that my diet doesn't break. Thank you ma'am from your videos I have realised that we should love ourselves, our food and culture. Thanks a lot for opening our eyes. I request you to please make a video regarding people like us, who were into those fad diets, and now how can we get back on track?

Absolutely great series!!! such an eye opener, a real need of the hour and you are truly "God sent" for many and as you mention about sticking to the roots, culture, tradition, following ancestors etc.... We all at home, follow those like total avoidance of outside foods, preserved foods, eating all home made nutritious foods, fries etc and we all are healthy for years by his blessings... Totally agree. What we have been eating since generations and the way we have been eating is the correct way. Having just soup or salads in the evening is just not sustainable. We do it for few days and then again come back to our regular meals of sabzi roti or dal chawal. Eagerly waiting for the next video on breaking the weight plateau.

Absolutely true. I have reduced 10kg in 6 months by eating almost every thing except white sugar and white flour. I just reduced quantity and fasting one day a week .Fasting included fruits , dry fruits and sweet potatoes chat .

@Supersonic Diesel she doesn't say no to fasting. She says culturally appropriate fasting. Also she does emphasizes on using jaggery and millets that are locally produced, even fruits and dry fruits that are locally produced. She even emphasizes not using oil for re-frying and avoiding ready-to-eat packaged food...then foods like samosa etc that are fried and refried in the same oil again and again... But her main emphasis is making changes that can be carried out for years to come and portion control. 😊

@Supersonic Diesel I am insulin resistant with pcos and overweight.. my doc told me to cut down carbs and fat from my diet, add more protein, fruit and vegetables, excercise 90 mins daily to the point that I feel breathless and lose atleast 2 kgs in a month.. trust me.. that amount of stress in itself is harmful for people like us.. rujuta's advise is based on sound knowledge.. she always asks you to take wholesome food which has always been cooked at home for centuries in our country.. that's bcoz rice may be a carb, but eating it with pulses, little bit of curd and a small amount of achar and a teaspoon of ghee actually makes it wholesome, full of nutrients and also reduces it glycemic index, which inturn helps our body to maintain stable blood sugar levels and keeps us energetic in the long run.. it's my personal experience where I have literally tried all the fad diets that she named in this video, it only led to stress, anxiety, yes a little weight loss but a whole lot of weight gain in half the time.. it's just been a month that I am following her advise and I already feel more energetic than I ever was.. and at the end of the day, that is what we truly desire.. to be able to do everything that we want to, for that we need the energy and only a wholesome diet can give us that.. ofcourse excercise is an integral part too..

@Supersonic Diesel been there done that dear.. lost 40 kgs of weight.. gained it back.. again lost 30 kgs of weight, gained it back.. then gained 50 kgs of weight during pregnancy and lost 40 kgs of weight again.. all following these so called low carbs, low fat, high fat, high protein diets and lots n lots of workout.. but take the hint here.. the moment u are not able to follow a single item in the so called diet.. ur weight and strength goes for a big toss.. and it's almost impossible to follow the same diet for years n years to come when we are old and senior citizens.. you said we are in the times where maximum people are insulin sensitive.. what do you think is the reason..? Bcoz everyone just stopped eating what our ancestors had been eating n feeding for centuries and never had to worry about these diseases.. nowadays all we pass on to the next generation is the gyaan on keto and intermittent fasting n what not.. truth being said.. these diets ARE the problem, they're NOT the solution..

@Supersonic Diesel also.. as far as sara Ali Khan is concerned.. a dietician always asks the client what they like and don't like to eat and accordingly suggest the food.. so maybe better than a packaged food like pasta bought from the store, she suggested something healthy that can be prepared at home and enjoyed.. keeping a negative mentality towards your traditional food and your ancestor's wisdom ( who by the way were much more fitter and enthusiastic than today's diet gurus) is not gonna take you anywhere but make you regret in the long run.. that is my 2 paisa ( not cents) advise for people..

@Supersonic Diesel fasting is not a fad.. it's been in our culture since long.. but there was also upwas ka khaana which was a well thought food preparation our ancestors ate when observing a fast... Intermittent fasting is some what similar to what muslims do in the month of Ramadan.. but then again they do it only for a month, and then too their feast at night involves a variety of fruits and dry fruits and a wholesome meal.. I don't care what Dr Benjamin says.. I believe rujuta bcoz she talks common sense and I believe that our ancestor were more knowledgeable than these people who write books just to make money and don't really care about the whole well-being of a person.. I can challenge you that you find any person with your age, weight and disease who follows rujuta's advice.. that person will have more energy, enthusiasm, and better strength compared to you.. well, since you wished me luck, I'll do the same for you on you keto diet.. anyways, if a few year down the line you seem to regret your decision, you can always try n eat the way your parents n forefathers ate food and lived their life... I rest my case here 😊

You have been such a Eye opener Rujutha! Thank you so much!! I did try intermittent fasting for a week, I did feel lighter but I was shivering while exercising... I'm following you & enjoying food.. but the number on the weight scale is stagnant.. not that I check everyday.. I really want flat stomach & better body. I'm really looking forward for your next session... I have a question, traditionally we have been eating 3 times a day, now that you say eat 6 times - why aren't we focusing on tradition?

It's absolutely true... I had tried fasting diet last year for 3months, I couldn't strech more and after leaving it I hv put on couple of kgs which I am still struggling to shed off🤦 anybody wanting to try fasting diet, please don't. You can do for few months or at the most yr or two but for lifetime it is not possible 😏

Hi Rujuta g, thank God you have a you tube channel I'm progressing towards Menopause , I'm 45+ , I'm suffering from Hypothyroidism, borderline diabetes, high ESR , very bad skin, alongwith medicine what are the food items ladies like we should consume, what things we should not consume, some people say drink coriander water, don't eat bananas, cabbage, peanuts , I'm highly confused, please guide ladies like us passing thru this stage

The calories of the food doesn't change in night ... It carries the same amount of calories and nutrition as it is in day time .. also there should be a gap between dinner and sleep ..

Ma'am.. please make a video on what mid meal options can we have when travelling to another state for a longer duration like 2 weeks or more to visit relatives.. breakfast, lunch and dinner options are obviously local.. but what about mid meals..? what can we carry with us for snacking in those days.. especially for hunger pangs in between meals bcoz we can't control the time table at someone else's house.. they may not have stocks of fresh fruits n dry fruits handy.. kindly suggest the essentials for travelling and also the exercise options..

I do intermitten fasting . Late breakfast and next meal by 6pm at most. But I do eat rice or roti. I'm losing weight but very slowly because I hv not cut out the carbs . I hv lost 2to 3 kg per month. Lost 5 kg in 2 1/2 month

Keto and IF... Tried for a year... Destroyed my gut health..I'd vomit for 6-7 times in the evening after breaking fast after 20-22hrs with high fat diet... Stopped this bakwas and started eating normal Indian diet.. getting better each day... Thanks to RD for opening my eyes

Those who have 4 hours journey, long late working hours, stressful work. Late dinner, late sleep is unavoidable. It is causing acidity, vomiting, indigestion, despite early morning 1 hour yoga. Kindly advise and suggest remedies. 🙏
