How to install Timbren bump stop suspension upgrade on 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 compression cup 

Did installation on my 2021 Silverado yesterday. It’s a bit different. The bump stops are bolted to the bottom of the frame rails. The bolt is recessed up inside the bump stop. I had looked for a video for my year truck but couldn’t find one. It was a real pain finding a socket extension that was not too short and not too long. You’re working blind to remove a bolt up inside the bump stop. Living up north there was rust up in there. The socket slipped a bit and rounded the flats on the chintzy little 10 mm bolt. I had to cut the bump stop off in pieces with a Sawzall. I had to get every bit of it off so I could get vise grips on head of stripped bolt. Sprayed lots of penetrating oil on and finally got it out. Second one went way better. You need to cut of bump stop with Sawzall as high as you can. Then you can see bolt head and get socket on there and see what you’re doing. Spray lots of penetrating oil on. Also, big part of issues was for first bolt I used a 12 point socket because the 6 point I had was only 1/4” drive. BIG MISTAKE. Do not use a 12 point socket. 6 point is only way to go. Hope this helps anyone with a newer truck.

These looks exactly like the timbrens I just put on my 2017 2500. I actually used a scissor jack to get them in place before I blocked the axle and dropped the truck on them. I would love to of been able to afford the Stable loads also, maybe this summer it will happen.

You probably should not have used oil. Soap and water is what the instructions say.
