Our new BSD™ Tie rod kit is here and does wonders for your Can-Am Maverick X3 XRS. Through rigorous testing of our shop car, we found that the X3 RS had a lot of steering wheel feed back in the whoops especially if you run a larger tire and while turning in the whoops. After cycling the front suspension we found over 4 inches of bump steer in the factory system. Bump steer is a change in toe setting (front of tires closer together than the rear of the tires) through the cycle of front suspension travel. The best set up is as close to zero toe change as possible. If your front tires change toe setting they are essentially doing the same thing as you turning the steering wheel slightly on every bump you hit. Bump steer is one of the biggest contributors to steering wheel feedback, twitchy drive ability, excessive front end wear and worn out forearms from trying to keep the car straight. So in an effort to eliminate all of these things we developed our BSD™ (bump steer delete™) tie rod kit for the X3 RS.

Shock Therap: Make sure you torque your wheels to the manufactures numbers of the lug nuts you have Also Shock Therapy (hits wheels with Milwaukee impact gun)

Don't understand how you're coming up with these bump steer numbers. Are you subtracting the ride height from the doubled full droop numbers?. The math doesn't work. Thanks for any help on this.

Ride height should be set to zero toe. Bump numbers are the change in toe. So if at droop your toe is 1” toe in you have a total amount of bump from ride height to droop of 1”. If you can cycle the suspension fully from droop to full compression you will get your total bump through full cycle. If ride height is zero toe, droop is 1” in and fully compressed is 1” toe out then you add both numbers to get a total bump of 2”. Since it changes 1” toe in to 1” toe out you add them up since the total toe change from IN to OUT is 2”. But if things were different, if it is 1” toe IN at droop and 1” toe IN at full compression that’s a total of 1” of movement because it’s only moving IN at both ends of the cycle. I hope this helps. 👍🏼
