I honestly can't believe the timing of this video is unreal and can only be defined by divine intervention but I'm literally in the midst of making the decision to break up with my boyfriend. I thought these tips were great! To add my two cents to the mix, I think it's important to remember who you were in Christ before your relationship and your goals for yourself and then compare where you are during the relationship. Have you progressed in the pursuit of your faith and purpose? Secondly, just to even dial that it back to basics, do you enjoy that person's company? do they stand up to your values and morals? But most importantly has your life become better and more enjoyable with the addition of them to your life or is it more stress that it's worth?

God could not have brought a more perfect person into my life for me. Now I am 100% sure he is the right man for me to marry. I have some similar uncertainties to what you had, and wonder if it's just my mindset and expectations that I need to let God change. My boyfriend and I have a lot of common interests - especially the outdoors. Neither of us come from particularly warm, loving or healthy families. I wasn't friends with him 1st, but we've been dating nearly 3 years. And I felt very comfortable with him very early on. He does everything he can to support me and address my relationship doubts and needs, so he's trying his best. But he doesn't easily talk about his faith or emotions or thoughts, so I feel like I'm being cared for rather than it being a balanced, equal relationship. And I wonder if he's more focused on me than God - so I have similar uncertainties about his leadership and initiative. He is also very compliant and goes along with whatever I ask.

Emily Boatman I know it’s hard! I do think prayer is a starting point haha. I think we should not cease to pray over the difficulties we are having to deal with. However, I don’t think it’s pray and that’s it. I think we also have to be intentional about living out the Bible and how we are called to live within our marriage. This is where it gets really hard because if we want to be biblical and Christ like, our actions cannot depend on our husbands behavior. The thing is (at least for me) that no matter how much of godly wife I aim to be, it has not impacted my husband enough to want to be a godly husband and a godly father. This is where my main discouragement comes from. Obviously, not to mention the difference in views and ways of thinking that also strain the relationship because it makes it hard to walk in unity. Now, the way I’ve been trying to deal with this these last few days, is by praying and evaluating my own heart and motives. I’ve had and ask myself who am I living for? Am I trying to do all this to get the result of a healthier marriage? Or a changed man? Or am I being a godly wife because I love the Lord and ultimately it is He who I want to please? Am I desiring more to have the husband that I want, or am I willing to trust the sovereignty of God and know that He knows exactly where my husband is. That He knows what I am feeling and He is using our trials for our greater good and His ultimate glory? These are all really hard things to wrestle with. And they are painful because it requires us to surrender and just because we surrender and continue to live out the way God calls us to live, it does not mean we will end up with Godly husbands. It does mean we get the reward of knowing we are walking in obedience and that God honors when we love and obey Him no matter the what that may costs us. So for me, I will choose the Lord. I will trust His plans. I will trust His faithfulness and I will seek Him in my pain and discouragements and allow Him to be my comforter and friend. This also means I have to be very very intentional with fighting bitterness too. I don’t know if this happens to you, but I tend to get so frustrated that I can easily become bitter and resentful. And I have to guard against this- A lot!! It’s hard, girl! But we can endure and preserver if we cling to Him!! James 1:2 says “Blessed is the man that remains steadfast under trials, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him”. We may or may not get all the earthly good things we desire (like a godly husband) but we do get have Jesus and experience a close relationship with him as we walk this things out! And that is far better! :) I pray we both endure and cling to Him. I’ll be praying for you!❤️

Hey Ladies, My 2 cents ... in case you haven't read the book Power of A Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian ... I think it would be very helpful. In my opinion it's a powerful yet relatively easy read with some practical steps that you can keep coming back to for refreshing as you continue to seek God for yourself regarding the details of your specific situation.

I was in a relationship of 2 years and all the signs was there. But in his heart God was not he spoke the talk but did not walk the walk. We have to remember the devil knows the word. I think you should think on what the word says in Galatians 5:22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.Against such things there is no law. God will and has really already showed you thats why you asked this question. But you have the answer already. You must back up out Gods way and let him work on that guy. God bless you.

Despite your depression, I bet you work in other ways in which you don’t profit from financially. Maybe you help out in church, help people put things together, cook meals for friends, or evangelize. So much pressure is tied to what people do for living that they don’t see ways in which people work that aren’t paid as work. As long as your work is to the Lord that should be what matters. Maybe your money comes from the government through disability or something like that. God likely has someone for you who won’t look down on you. Depression is tough. I struggle with it too. I also think depression would be a good topic for Jeff to cover.

I’m a Chinese, English is not my first language either. I love the questions you asked , and those are really important questions. Seems like you have been searching the true meaning and purpose of life. I became a Christian after I came to the U.S, heard the gospel the first time of my life. After I received Christ into my life, I have walked away from God and church twice, and definitely have questioned my faith many times. I think having doubts in a faith journey is very important, which means you are searching and thinking, otherwise you are just having a blind faith. However, we shouldn’t be controlled by the doubts and questions. God is so big, beyond our imagination, so we definitely don’t know everything about Him. When He created the universe and us, he also gave us a free well to choose to follow him or not. Adam failed in the temptation, so sin came in, and we separated from God. When Jesus facing the temptations He didn’t fail, He choose to follow God. Because of his obedience, we can be set free from sin. Like what you said evil is action without love. In the Bible said God is love, so evil=no God. It’s not God created evil, it’s people choosing not having God in their lives. when I have doubts I still read the Bible, pray and go to church. I’m seeking the answers not only from Him, but also from the other bodies of Christ, to know different perspectives of God . Recommend you to read The Reason for God by Tim Keller. Hey Chenchen liu, thank you for taking your time to answer me :) I’m sure you know this quote: „God is love.“ (1 John 4:8). Any christian would agree that god can not do evil. But what is evil? The absence of love. So god created creatures that can be evil (be without love)? And the explanation is, that he wanted us to have free choice? Let me explain with an example, why that doesn’t make any sense to me: I assume you are a good person. Loving and caring. Now let’s also assume you were a developer of human-like robots. Would you give your robots the possibility to chose bad and let them refuse to be loving and for example let them kill other robots or even people? I don’t think so. At least myself wouldn't give robots the possibility to do that, although I’m not even remotely perfectly loving. But god is. And nevertheless he creates robots (humans) that can refuse to be loving and to killing other robots (humans)? To me a person allowing its creatures to do evil is a evil person themself. Some people say: you must not think so much! Just believe! To me this is a very bad thing to say. Why do we then have a brain to think? So god did also give as a brain that can think about something and then draw the wrong conclusions? To me that would also be a very evil thing to do… This is only one simple (but to me a very important) example why the whole christian belief can not be true. But life can be great nevertheless. Only if you believed in god your whole life and all the people around you do too, that can make you very sad and depressed. But life goes on. Let’s do the best out of our life we have here on earth. Chenchen liu: Hi again, btw 6 months ago I have already read the book "the reason for god" by timothy keller. But it didn't convince me at all. It just made me believe that christianity is a peaceful religion and that it formed our society in a positive way. But the points he makes for the existence of the god of the bible are not convincing at all. Of course, people who don't think for themselves can be easily convinced. But a chsristian who wants to know the truth can't be convinced that easily. and that is a good thing. Of course there are far worse religions: the islam! it is a great and dangerous lie... but that doesn't make me accept the lie of the christianity... I want the truth to reign in the world, not a fairy tale lie... no matter how pleasing it is. But of course there are many preachers that realized during their study that christianity is a lie, but a nice lie. so they decide to preach that lie anyway. In my opinion this is very bad. No human should be lied to in such a huge dimension... sorry for my bad english, but I think you get my point 😄

Hi Likunder, I read your messages and I understand where you are coming from. Consider if God made us as robots. We would automatically serve Him and do good and not have any of our own choices to make. We wouldn't be able to think for ourselves or wonder what evil is or experience it. We wouldn't be able to contemplate like we are doing together right now! I believe God is our Creator, of the universe, heavens, this earth and all that's on it. I see you know the verse that says "God is Love". We know that love is potrayed by things we do, an action. And viewing what God does (assuming He did all these things) , and that He created love as well, and emotions, He gave us the freedom of choice. He also let us have power over the living creatures on this earth, and we don't treat some of those very good either. Just thinking about how we kill Elephants just for their tusks, the sea creature for inks, and how we kill animals for sport. This isn't God's fault, do you think so? He would hope, because He loves His creation and creatures, that we would take care of His things and treat them kindly. You see the evil and good in this world. There was a time before this world was in existence that there was no evil. In present ever since sin came, Some people kill other people. Why? What is going on through their minds to make that choice? Have you read the Bible where God tells us to not take revenge on another? He asks us to not kill each other, but to do the opposite. He revolves around love because as we find out through His word, that has been the plan. And yet some don't want to listen. Animals kill other animals they see as their prey, but we come to understand that in Heaven things won't be like this anymore. This is only temporary. It is horrible, I agree. I don't see this as a fairy tale, but a war, of Good versus Evil, don't you? I questioned where the Bible came from and how people found these scriptures, but they found some books in different places of great distances, and the scriptures fit like puzzle pieces that were supposedly written by different people. I have thought that, if all these people knew eachother and were alive at the same time could have gotten together and made this stuff all up, but then I questioned, why they would do that and spend all that time writing a fake story/ fairy tale together? I also questioned about Jesus, but all the characters in the new testament at the time of Jesus, and even apart from the Bible, in history books of Augustus and Julius Ceasar, and then Paul going to Malta, which is in the Book of Acts in the Bible. I found that Paul really did go to Malta, because my grandparents came from Malta, their homeland, and are now here in the U.S. Malta has place designated to where Paul had apparently stayed, and I think, that since all of this history is so spread out to a lot of continents and places, and that it plugs into history from History books we are taught in school, that it is true. I apologize for writing so much, but I wanted to share my thoughts. I also have questions unanswered, but I hope what I said will help answer your questions. Don't give up searching for the truth Likunder, I think you should give God a chance as well.
