I did it! I finished my basket wave cowl today and it's really warm and soft. It took longer than I expected and I a lot of yarn but it's really worth it :-) thank you!

Hi Bru Ru! :) When we first cast on the pegs (when we do the 8 figures, have 2 loops on each and we pull the bottom loop over the top for the first time) you are right and the last peg just has 1 loop, so it does not get knitted. At the next row, it happens the same at the other side (the first peg), and the next round it happens again at the last peg (the first and the last peg have this special behaviour). We always wrap doing the figure 8, but we work different stitches on each group of 4 pegs. We could say we "knit" when we pull the bottom loop over the top, and we "purl" when we do the opposite. Hope this helps

Thank you Vanessa! :) Sure, you can also make a scarf following the same pattern (the only matter here is that this pattern could take a lot of time to get long enough for a scarf, it is not as fast to knit as others we shared before)

Hi, I have tried to follow the video but get confused. What's the name of this stich? Your stiching follows always the same pattern so it's not a Figure 8 or am I wrong?? Also, it seems that the first peg is never knitted, is that supposed to be so? Sorry for all the questions, I really love the pattern and would love to be able to create this cowl Thanks Brunella

Can this one be attached to the cowl neck hoodie so that the neck part can be fuller, if so, would I just do this and then cast the loops on the circular loom and start the hoodie portion?

I did it. I finished all the pieces. Then I cast the cowl neck on the loom and then the two sides of the hood. I knitted then together then binded the off. I then took the needle and yarn and closed the back and top of hood

hi, im new to loom knitting. i like this cowl but instead of it being the same length, is there a way to make the cowl so that the bottom is bigger than the top to cover more of the shoulders?

aymst1 hi! Yes, you can do a similar cowl on a round loom. The result will be thinner (since the long loom has 2 sides or rows) and the stitch will look a little bit different, but yes, the basket weave stitch can be perfectly done on a round loom (here the basket weave beanie: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aLj9qowOzRk.html )

You could work the basket weave stitch in this other way on a round loom: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aLj9qowOzRk.html (you could do it in flat panel) However it won't be exactly the same we show here, because here you get a "double thick" result and it looks a bit different.

what confusing about your directions is you use different words for knit & purl. I found this very confusing, being new to loom knitting. I started saying knit 4 pegs, purl 4 pegs and then I got it !! Why do you use different words for doing knit & purl. No other vidio has done that, I loved this pattern the minute I saw it. I was sorry it took unnecessary time figuring it out. It's a great pattern, so pleasr just keep it simple. At least till I'm more experience, lol !
