Still moving the knees with this “helpful” exercise! I did water exercises prescribed by my doctor. I bounced and tred water and moved my knees a lot. And because my knees are not formed correctly, I could not walk the next day I was I so much pain. Sometimes you just have to not move the knees. I do not recommend knee surgery to correct a faulty knee. I had my right knee “corrected” and at the end of the day it hurts worse than the one that wasn’t operated on. The only exercises I can do for my knees and still be a functioning member of society is walk. Not fast or strenuously. If it hurts stop walking. Listen to your body. And only do what you can. If you overdo it, you can make your condition worse. So be kind to your knees. 😊
I had an HTO operation 12 weeks ago. Time will tell if it has helped my osteoarthritis. It was an operation to put off having a knew replacement as I am too young for it. Ive found if i cant do any lunges, squats or wall sits I can definitely keep my knees moving by sitting on my exercise bike and cycling without resistance for 15 - 20 mins 2 - 3 times a day. If that causes pain I sit on my countertop with ankle weights and let my legs hang and relax fully. Once they are relaxed I do gentle rotations in different directions to keep the fluid flowing in my knees. I do this again 3 times a day for 15 - 20 mins.
