Episode#45 Custom Virtual Pinball Cabinet Tutorial Series Extravaganza!
In this video I do a collaboration with a fellow RU-vidr friend of mine and we design and make a pinball cover from scratch! We go over the materials, design requirements, and come out with a pretty snazzy cover to protect my virtual pinball cabinet. Make sure you check out her video for the sewing part!
If you would like to watch the diy video for the sewing part of the project, head on over to Catherine Sews and make sure you thank her for her hard work on this cover and share her channel out to your friends that might be interested in learning all about sewing from a talented sewing teacher!

Hi...I'm new to channel! I've watched Catherine many times! She's wonderful! And I think you're great! I'm a sewing/motor head! I've a 1969 Mercury Courger 351/Cleveland...Ivy Cream. .. And a 2008 Red Line Turbo Saturn Sky 5 speed. 1969 Chevrolet Camaro... 2016 GT Mustang 2022 Challenger . Oh my first car was a 1973 Mercury Courger. I had to get the cylinder heads reconditioned. And weld up a small hole in trunk .. Well that's it for now! Best wishes Bonnie Ohio USA 😊

Oooh 💙 firebird. Even open the back seam like a cape, to wrap around and use snaps. Instead of lifting so high.

Yeah me too! I've got a 1968 firebird at home. Yeah that's a good idea and would work better for a shorter person. For me it works great and comes off/goes on quickly and easily. Thanks for the watch and welcome to the channel!

She plays exactly like my wife. My wife knows pinball and has played the real thing in her youth but looks at the virtual table as something from an alternate dimension built by aliens.

Some day I'll be building one! I just built a custom dj booth at home, and my next project is a big gaming table. So I can use my new welder and 3D printer I bought over Christmas holidays! When I do build that Vpin I'll be rewatching all your videos again cause it was such a great series and so well put together and educational.

I would have made out of the lighter weight Sunbrella in either toast or grey. Black will always show dust. I would bind the seams and bottom edge externally in black so the inside had absolutely nothing to hang up on the machine. I also would have installed a zipper at both rear vertical lines of the case so it would be easy to install and remove. The extra weight of the Sunbrella would have given the cover more body to be able to hold its shape better so the finished product actually looks like a custom tailoring job for this cabinet rather than a fairly shapeless bag placed over a random case. The logo was a nice touch.
@shivorath
@shivorath 6 месяцев назад
I doubt it was meant that way, but the way you wrote your comment comes across a bit harsh. I'm sure a lot of your suggestions could improve it, but the cover as it exists is still awesome and a wonderful thing for a colleague to have made for him, even as part of a mutually beneficial collaboration.
@wayofthewrench
@wayofthewrench 6 месяцев назад
Sounds like you know what you're talking about. So far I'm really happy with the cover. Color is great and no issues with showing dust and that cover comes off a couple times a week so no dust is really settling. A zipper might have been nice but might scratch the cabinet too. It's actually really easy to install/remove and the fabric is really light and doesn't catch on anything either. Thanks for the watch!

@@wayofthewrench I’m glad that one is working out for you. I was a sailmaker for 20 years. Sorry, I should have specified plastic zippers. Metal ones are rarely used in my old occupation because salt air/water quickly corrodes them.

Nice, I helped my mother make new sail covers from the old ones (used as patterns) back in the day when we lived on a 50' faro concrete ketch. Ya a plastic zipper would have been a nice touch too. Cheers!
