How to Make a Stone Inlay Ring with just a Dremel 

THANK YOU!!! You are the only person to mention to let the ca glue dry thoroughly before you start working it with a file. That’s a must and nobody seems to say so. The accelerator makes it cloudy even if you don’t use a bunch.

Ive made a few stone rings using a Dremel, and found that i could make a poor mans ring mandrel from a spare sanding mandrel (obviously minus the sanding drum. I just wrap the rubber part of the mandrel with electrical tape until its the perfect diameter for my ring to fit onto, and then i just tighten the mandrel via the screw on top as usual, which due to the elasticity of the tape allows my ghetto mandrel to secure the ring in the same way that a regular sanding mandrel secures a sanding band. Perhaps not the most ideal solution, but honestly its always worked out perfectly for me.

I have ring blanks, mica, and a Dremel, but I don’t have the stand you were using to hold the Dremel and ring. I don’t know anyone who has a 3D printer. Is there a way I can do this without the stand? I also do these rings with UV resin. but never sanded them. (Oops) didn’t know I needed to. So, now, my cousin is wanting a memorial ring done with some ashes in the mix. I told her I could look into doing one this way. I really want to try. Any suggestions ???? Thanks. Which Dremel used in video please. What ring mandrel is it please. Im planing to make the ring with groove in ss silver as am a silversmith.

what kind of glue did you use? I used gorilla crazy glue and the stones are very dark
