Tempeh is a type of fermented food originated from Indonesia. It looks very similar to taffy. It is fermented by having rhizopus making contact with skinned yellow beans, and is quite rich in proteins. Yellow beans are most commonly used in this process, but other beans and common grains such as chickpea can be used to make tempeh as well.
