Sometimes you just need to indulge a little. While I try to avoid eating fried foods too often, some dishes are just too tasty to avoid completely and Honey Walnut Shrimp is one of them.
I first had this dish at a Dim Sum restaurant with friends. It wasn't
a dish that I would have had as a child because my parents just never ordered anything like this. But, I left that restaurant craving shrimp prepared like this for a long time. Something about the sweet, tangy, creamy sauce and the crispness of the shrimp and crunchiness of the walnuts just made me want more!
This is a relatively easy dish to whip up. It does however, in my opinion, look and taste way more fancy so you can take the credit for making this impressive dish! Skip the take out or the expensive prices from a fancy Chinese restaurant and make this in your own kitchen!
I like to use organic ingredients whenever possible, HOIA recipes are not only clean, but also delicious. I hope you enjoy this video! HOIA!!!

I have 2 cats and m Grand son has 1 cat they hop a lot but only one likes the Kitchen Island when we are cooking.

It depends on if this is the only dish you are making to eat with your rice or if you are serving something else as well. Often times, it’s great to offer another stir fry to add variety of flavor to your meal. I would say this is perfect for 2 if you are only making this dish for dinner!

I just found your channel. I can't wait to try this! Can you post a video to explain which gluten free starches are best for fried chicken, dumplings, corn dogs, etc... as well as gluten free recipes. There are endless videos on vegan ,organic, Paleo, etc videos but very few gluten free. And I don't think there is an Asian foods gluten free channel.... Thank you!!!

GJ Nelson The great thing about cooking is that you can practice and do it over and over again to perfect your skills! In this dish, the hardest part would be to make sure your shrimp is cooked all the way through but the outside isn’t burned or too soggy. Watch the temp of the flame an you should be okay. Try this for for yourself and then you can make it again for someone special! 💪👍😎

ivyskitchen.net/?p=128 Here are the ingredients: Candied Walnuts: 1/2 cup walnuts 1 tablespoon melted butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup water Sauce- *Measurements will vary according to your taste. This sauce may turn out really sweet. I’ve added measurements you can start off with and build from there according to your taste. I italicized my measurements that I used according to my taste buds. *2 tablespoons - 4 tablespoons cup kewpie mayo (Kewpie mayo can be found at most Asian grocery stores. If you can’t find this, you can use regular mayonnaise.) (3 Tablespoons) *1 - 2 tablespoons honey (I started off with 1 1/2 teaspoons but wanted it sweeter. I ended up using 1 Tablespoon) 1 teaspoon - 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk (1 1/2 teaspoons) *1 teaspoon - 1 tablespoon lemon juice (1 teaspoon) Other ingredients: 1 lb prawns/tiger shrimp salt and pepper to taste 2 eggs 1/2 cup cornstarch vegetable oil Directions: 1. Add melted butter to walnuts. 2. In medium heat, pour water in a small saucepan and add the brown sugar. Mix until sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens like caramel. Once the sauce boils, add the buttered walnuts and let it cook in this sauce for 5 minutes. 3. Remove walnuts from sauce and cool down for 20 minutes in the refrigerator. 4. In a bowl, mix the mayo, honey, sweetened condensed milk, and lemon juice until you have a smooth creamy sauce. 5. Peel, devein, and wash your shrimp. 6. Season your shrimp with salt and pepper. 7. Beat two eggs and pour over shrimp. 8. Add the shrimp to your cornstarch and mix until the shrimp is coated with the cornstarch. 9. Heat oil in pan and fry your shrimp. Drain shrimp on a paper towel. 10. Return shrimp to pan, walnuts, and sauce. Mix to warm through. Enjoy!
