I came here for the adjustable fence. I appreciate that you took the time to build the fence instead of installing a purchased fence. Some of us out here need to build our own.

You are very welcome. I couldn’t afford one of those expensive ones, and frankly, I think it turned out better anyways.

Just a tip, Next time place your template around your lift with it sitting on the table upside down then template rout your ledge. That will leave you with cutting the center out with the jigsaw without having to set up and do all the marking on the front end.. Nice build..

Very clear video with great directions and pointers. I started building one this past weekend using this as my guide. Thanks! I started out using 3/4 ply for the top, my double sided tape pulled up the top layer of laminate… should’ve followed you more closely and used the MDF! At least I hadn’t laminated the two sheets together at that point (I assumed I would mess something up), so the botched one will become the lower layer now. Thinking of using melamine for the top instead, but I’ll do a test first!

No need to laminate the MDF? How is it holding up? Thanks for this exceptionally useful video.

Awesome project, man!! I need one of these in my shop as well. What HP is your DC? That suction was impressive!

Thanks! Yeah it’s been a game changer in my shop. My dust collector is a 1.75 HP and the router table is at the end of the line, so yeah the dust collection is impressive on this thing. Thanks for watching.

You can put your drawer slides on the sides of the carcass before you assemble at your work bench, works great without getting down in your knees

$560.00 for the router lift is insane
@funnyharleyman
@funnyharleyman 6 месяцев назад
It’s listed for $347.00 on Amazon. Even at that price, one could probably get a half way decent table but we do like to build things don’t we.

I could have, but I don’t know that I had the CNC setup by this time,

Nice build ! I used your video to build my own router table! My only problem is the dust collection when cutting dados, dust is flying everywhere . Did you experienced this issue ? Dust collection is good when cutting roundover ! I'm using a shopvac and a cyclone as dust collector , do you think it could be the problem ? Maybe its not strong enought? I did had holes for airflow but dust don't really go down in the cabinet below... do you have advises for me ? Thank you !
@SaltCityWorkshop
@SaltCityWorkshop Год назад
Hey Nicolas, sorry about the late response. Dust is always going to fly everywhere when you cut dado's because they dust has no where to go but down the dado in the opposite direction of the dust Chute. Rockler makes a cool dust collection connector for that exact problem. www.rockler.com/dust-right-router-table-dado-dust-chute

I had the Rockler jig, threw it away its easier to use 2 blocks of wood.

I bought the Rockler Jig as well and it now sits in a drawer collecting dust as I found it to be a pain as well as screw that holds the indexing rod in place was miss threaded so I had to rethread it to make it work and I Hate to have to Fix Brand New Tools. I bought the Kreg Jig kit and like it much better as I can use it to install and space inset drawers as well as flush drawers and it comes with two runners instead of one like the Rockler so I can install both slides at the same time and get them level and then use the rails to hold the drawer box in place to install them on the slides as well. Also, the Kreg Jig cost's the same as the Rockler give or take a $ or 2. Anybody wants a Rockler drawer jig for Free, just come to Az. and pick it up. Really, I am Serious you can have it.

Just built a router table very similarly. Really surprised you can stand breathing in all of that MDF dust from the router. I had to put a mask on because my lungs had had enough of my shenanigans.

@@SaltCityWorkshop Nice build. Remember MDF dust is potentially carcinogenic. Some good general tips too - thanks.

Man i cant believe, that you mill in solid mdf without dust collection. This micro dust is dangerous and so annoying.
