the 5 hit wave slice combo. My method was to simply dodge the first 2 and jump over the 3rd, and the 4th will just go over your head from that same jump, feels slick af.
Probably one of my favorite bosses of all time. She is actually incredibly satisfying to fight once once you get her moveset down and can dodge everything. One thing I've found that works well for the quintuple ranged moon attack is just running up to her as soon as you see her setting up for the attack. Its really easy to dodge the slashes up close when you have the rhythm down. You can stay within striking distance and just dodge as if she is doing normal swing attacks. (I'm a light build though. Not sure how this method fares for heavy builds.)
From a purely mechanical standpoint, I think she might be no.1 . The level of depth and freedom is mind blowing. Imagine if they actually gave her a cutscene or even voicelines.
@@shinyhydreigon7257 final boss is mess imo, does not work well at all in the second phase, his first phase is similar in complexity to someone like Godfrey and every single addition to the moveset in phase 2 is unbalanced in some way or another. Messmer is quite complex I’d actually compare him to someone like friede or pontiff
@@nefarious8278 The phase 2 of the final boss is the same as phase 1 but tests your positioning aswell as a few extra flashy attacks which are fun to dodge, though I still prefer messmer
do you know if there's any tell on Rellana's fast upward slash attack? It's one of her combo starters that she does really quick and I'm struggling to parry/dodge it consistently due to how fast the attack looks like.
yeah that is just one of those attacks u have to stay spaced to dodge. its not really something u can consistently react to so maintain distance as a way to plan for it
@@ooloh thanks a lot! yeah it seems like evading that initial attack and just parrying the 2nd or 3rd attack makes it a lot more consistent and less risky.
shocked to hear radahn is the laggiest fight for most people, idk why but he always runs fine for me despite it being a lightshow meanwhile the very low sfx rellana just causes stutters all the time xD
loved this fight, kinda cheesed her by accident with an unga bunga build on my first time so loaded up by second character to give her a go with something that wouldnt just hitstun her constantly. tones of fun, my parents woke up when i first saw the moon attack tho lol
My way to deal with the dash flurry move she does (near the last part of your video) if you're too close to her is just dodge to the right (her left), then immediately dodge again. The second attack of that move, which is the weird double slash, is so easy to catch you if you dodged left. And this method at least you don't need to extreme reflex of knowing that that move is coming and having to dodge early otherwise
I walk in at 20 scandu fragments in ng+, it's easy. I walk in at lvl 130 on a seamless playthrough with like 3 scadu blessings, can not dodge the simplest attacks and I don't know why. She just roll catches me every fucking time
of course! if u can dodge the attacks the same, then this is possible with any weapon. you may just have to adjust punishes for stamina consumption/weapon speed thats all
Elden ring hitboxes are so weird. I feel like on pretty much every boss I've fought, I've had an attack phase right through me and I didn't get hit. Also the usual just not being able to hit bosses like erdtree avatars with fists
For the flurry that you talked about last i find it more consistent to dodge to her right side rather than left, also the move I really struggle to dodge is her single fast upward slash, cause it has the same windup as the two quick slashes but it goes out way faster so I don't really know which of those she is doing
This is my favourite soulsborne boss mechanically ever. Only reason she isn't number 1 overall is that her arena is so fucking boring, and she has no cutscene.
on her stance thing into 5 projectile slash combo the 3rd and 4th projectiles come out the fastest. another way of dodging them that i liked to do was rolling directly backwards on the third one which delays the time that the fourth one would hit you by enough so that you can roll it as well. seemed 100% consistent for me
