Thanks for information on how to open the x-lite. Great info. Best guide I have found on this. Needed to open mine service mine as the throttle tension as was getting scratchy. Quick clean with isopropyl and all is good again.

Because I had this bad issue with the left gimbal of my Xlite, where the signal was not clean and smooth (lots of twitches and glitches, both on the betaflight rx tab and on the controller tab of the simulator) I opened the radio to clean it and check it. I noticed that those three cables on the gimbal (green black red) were a little bit bent at the point where they go under that chip piece on the gimbal. Maybe they were also a litte bit damaged inside, not sure, but I re soldered them on the top of that chip instead and it magically solved the issue, it now works like new. Just wanted to share as it was a big saver!

yes thank you, i was afraid to break something, i put the tightening screw in the wrong hole and it went inside the case. The sucker was in between the pcb and the frontshell... damn, but after removing another 8 screws it fell out :) Thanks again, seems like the fake analog stick for menu isnt hold back by anything, and you can pull it off fairly easily when assembled. i might want to use some glue for that. Its not alot of friction, after glue you're still able to open the case when necesary because it pulls straight through the casing.

pro tip for popping the case apart: use a plastic panel popper tool, the one I used comes to a fine point on one end and on the other is shaped like a scraper or chisel. Popped my case apart without putting a single scratch on it or breaking any of the clips.

I used a "professional cellphone repair kit" that i got for a few bucks on amazon and successfully opened it without any marks to the finish or breaking of clips. Hopefully this helps someone. Took me about 15 minutes.

is it possible to change the whole housing ? mine has become very sticky and scratches all over. But only need to get a replacement housing for 25$ i guess?

I had to replace my screen. Only used it 3 times for about 1hr in total and I got a missing line. This got worse. I was asked to send it back and it take about 3 weeks to get it back. Or was given the option for a replacement screen and replace it myself. The screen took almost 2 weeks.

What is the Bluetooth for? I added a momentary switch as soon as they were released. Also had to replace the pins for the modules already due to being an over zealous dummy when I first got the R9M lite. 🤪 Oops! Little tricky to open, but definitely not too bad once you've done it a couple times. I didn't realize there was already a 2nd version of these. Is the only difference extra screws?

I think this is explained in his titled *FrSky Taranis X-Lite Wireless Trainer Mode.* Apparently Bluetooth is used for the trainer mode and for an app which will monitor telemetry.

I've had to open mine up about 8 times to fix and upgrade various things and almost all the plastic tabs are now broken...and I was VERY careful. Now, instead of adding tension to gimbals the tension screws just spread the case apart. Terrible design choice by FRSky in my opinion.

You only have to do this if you want to add bluetooth or change around the switches. Or drop it and have to replace something. I don’t own a radio I have used regularly that I haven’t had to open.
