Absolute legend. I’m 22 an consider myself quite techy an things like these to be fairly easy to set up even without instructions, but MY GOD are the hive setup instructions absolutely horrendous. Can’t be good for the boiler the amount of times I had to kill it at the isolation just for that piece of plastic to double flash amber

I ‘inherited’ the hive system when I moved into my new house 4 years ago. I could not get it set up but was not aware that the previous owners had taken the hub with them. So…..I got a hub and still could not get it to work by using the hive manual. Saw this video today and thought I would give it a try…. Here I am now with everything connected to the app and all working well. I am feeling grateful to you for making it so straightforward - thank you. One happy 70 year old today!

Worked a treat - had to be patient, but great thanks. It was my mum’s HIVE and she is at risk on oxygen - British sent an engineer who did not fix and left her a number that went no where - amazing ! But your film helped enormously

Thank goodness I found this video…the hive instructions seem to miss all of this 🤷♀️ the online forum only managed to say take thermostat off back plate..nothing about battery, power off, pressing buttons etc..so thank you…I wouldn’t have got there otherwise

This worked a treat after weeks of trying to connect App. Tips: If App section for Thermostat showing offline on app phone dashboard ,the program to bring back online never worked for me, so you would have to follow this video as a reinstall of receiver to thermostat and then follow through, as in video, to install zone/thermostat on app like a 1st install. As mentioned in video the continue on searching for thermostat never came up for me to press, but if you go back to dashboard after a while the thermostat on app hopefully will be online. Happy Pairing!!!

moved into a new house with Hive heating system installed and Hive said I had to buy a new hub. I connected my phone with the new hub when it arrived and then tried to find instructions on how to connect new hub with the already installed hive heating system. Aarrgghhh useless info and was getting nowhere until I found your video - brilliant, clear and easy to follow and can now operate heating from my mobile, many thanks.

Great video. Solved my problem in 5 minutes. I had previously spent several hours reading Hive instructions and other tips online to try to get my Hive receiver to connect to the thermostat after mysteriously disconnecting for no apparent reason after 3 years of perfect operation. 4 hours for me too, it wouldn't pair, only heating not for water, i went over and over these steps, in the end after flashing amber, i pressed the button again on the wall thermostat and it all came on!

I followed Hives instructions and they failed to mention a further 10 second press after the light turned pink, to then turn it to flashing amber. As soon as I followed your instructions it all worked perfectly. Thank you so much for this accurate version!
Amazing! helped a lot - since I previously connected the receiver and thermostat before i had internet. I then found if difficult to pair all 3 together but this reset fixed my issues 👍
Nowhere in any of the Hive instructions did it say to turn those components off and on first before pairing. Kind of a crucial step. Thanks for you help 🙂
Brilliant, just spent the last couple of ours trying to get hub, receiver, thermostat and app to sync. All now sorted, remote monitoring of heating can now be done.

Great help - had moved into a new house with a basic Hive system and after getting a new (unregistered) Hub, was able to resset the Theromstat controller and add it to my app and get the heating system working properly...and before winter when I can add my desired heating schedule. :-) Many thanks 🙂 Such a shame that you cannot reset Hive Hubs and they are essentially useless to a new Hive user and the previous owners Hub is just "landfill" and cannot be used.
Hi, glad it helped. Hive hub is a useless system due to not being able to be re-assigned, additionally a waste to due this. Hive also does not modulate boilers, see myboiler.com/smart-heating/modulating-a-rated-boilers-with-smart-modulating-thermostats/ . Our advise to friends and family is not to use Hive, as due to lack of modulation, it can reduce the life of the boiler, and also costs you more in energy. Bloody brilliant...got the new hive v3 absolutely rubbish installation process... struggled for a day.. however next morning tried this , it exactly the same principle for the v3 hive...4mins later..all connected...play the vid and follow the steps along to the vid at the same time.....thank you these guys...so happy

Thank you! I kept repeating steps as the app never loaded that continue button. It wasn't until you said in your video sometimes it does that I realised I could go back and it would be installed!
