How to plastic weld like a pro with no expensive tools 

I used a old solder gun I had with a beat up tip so pretty much any tip you can get for your solder gun. As for tensile strength I have never had one re-crack on my and if you do a backing plate with some atwood 7200 then you will break something else before the repaired area would ever crack. Been plastic welding for many many years started out on some of my older sport bikes that would get a crack in the plastic.
