How To Play Better Tennis in 10 Minutes - Creating Time
Download our FREE tennis guides here - www.top-tennis-training.com/f...
Time is a very valuable commodity on the tennis court. Indeed, those that have more time to prepare, set up for, and execute their shots, will be able to produce a much higher-quality strike.
We've all felt late on the ball, we make contact on side of our body, we feel rushed, and everything feels jammed up and late. It destroys the quality of our tennis forehand and backhand and can make tennis miserable.
On the flip side of that, when we have time and can make contact out in front of the body, we feel in control, we feel balanced and stable and we know we've hit a much better quality shot.
In this tennis lesson, coach Simon Konov of Top Tennis Training will show you three ways to create time in tennis and play better tennis in just 10 minutes.
Video Timeline:
00:00 - Creating time using early preparation
01:42 - Early prep starts with tracking the ball
02:40 - Reducing the backswing to create time
05:05 - Intense then relax with your footwork

Great lesson! I've been preaching this for years. It's good to hear it explained so well. The faster the ball, the more compact your swing must be, including blocking or stabbing if necessary. But part of what helps offset the slowness of clay-court conditions is more topspin, optimally generated by more rotation and snap that benefits from having more time. Thanks, as always, for sharing your expertise. You guys are the best!

Such an important point you make in this lecture; is a discipline in timing, quickness in early preparation and not giving up the intensity in the first phase of running towards to ball to stroke. With you guys, learning never ends in tennis🍾✨👍 !!!Thanks a lot!!!

Thank you, your advice won me a match today! My opponent was hitting good angles and pace, but I managed to get to most of the balls. Just like Simon did demonstrating it in this video, I was telling myself, “Forehand, backhand, now forehand again” It felt so easy to track the ball and I felt like I have time to hit each shot properly. And it’s also a good way to keep your head clear during rallies. Thank you, guys!

You guys make amazing videos, thank you. There's a new style two handed backhand that Coric, Rune and Alcaraz all hit; can you do an analysis or how to hit that style. Looks to be a huge shoulder turn, pointint the blade to the incoming ball and they are very powerful. It's like a Next Gen Two Handed Backhand:)

Once again: You Rule! This is such good content. Thanks so much for what you do! I've been applying your lessons over the years and every time you have been correct. I still remember your teaching on breathing at contact. This is another video I will be learning and working on applying over the next 2 years! Yes, folks, it takes years to get this stuff into our day to day games!

@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial I think you have something unique to teach about the whole arra of unit turns. When you did your lesson on volley prep and mindset you spoke about how you are bouncing quickly and ready to spring to any ball. I see you do this in your baseline prep too. I think you could teach / build on your last lesson where you taught us to really watch the ball off our opponents string bed. So how do you time your mini-bounce split step to that. One coach taught me to practice a move where as I moved to a forehand volly to start with a pivot on both balls of my feet as I thrust the racquet forward and to the side as I meet the ball. I see you do that same thing. I've never seen anyone yet really explain that dynamic. Sorry for the long note... but if I can give back to you somehow this way then I'm a happy man. I greatly admire your work! Best, Ross

@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Simon, what did I just read here? I am so sorry to hear this. There I am moaning on about a tight knee while you could not have managed a more painful injury. Good thing you are in great shape and so I am sure will recover as fast as one can do - - - - but - - why is it that I am sensing from your response here that your are more bothered about having been up 6-2, 3-1 than you are about your ribs? A quick recovery Simon - the world of tennis (and entertainment - ha) needs you up and out there!!

Would you recommend to forget about feet positioning and only think about the unit turn with the upper body then let the legs follow that direction?
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Год назад
I would recommend working on pivoting around the outside foot and sprinting to the ball with normal steps whenever you can. Can’t do that on deep or short balls, but wide balls you can

How do you transition from the intense first steps to the ball, to the calm and relaxation when you get to the ball to hit it well? Once I start intense, I continue intense because that's where my mindset is at. It's hard for me to switch on and off.

If you can maintain a high level of intensity at all times, no need to change it. As long as you’re not tight
