Wow, I had no idea stalking was yet another form of power and control. Geez! Ignoring my stalker just made them do it more - demanding I answer them, demanding I communicate, demanding to know information in a specific way, calling non-stop, texting, emailing etc. Threatened to come to my house and my work if I don't answer. I lost my job 2 weeks ago over this and it was my dream job. These psychos ruin lives. And even when I filed a restraining order, they used the court system to communicate by filing motions and additional hearings so they get to see me AGAIN. Its so disturbing and sick and I am completely psychologically messed up from it. I am getting help but its going to be a long road.

People are crazy vindictive nowadays. Like, if someone doesn’t want to go out with you accept it. No need to get all crazy! Some people are nuts

These days professionals in domestic violence recommend that you stop using social media. At least for a period of time anyway. It was the first thing I was told to do in 2020 while divorcing a narcissit ex who was already engaging in stalking for many years.

I am being stalked by MULTIPLE people it's grossssss.

A married man at work has stalked me for 18 months that I know of….watching me, following me and attempting to keep tabs on me when I’m not at work. We were totally plutonic for 4 years, working in a project together. I never noticed a thing until a couple of years after the project ended. Another coworker said to me that she noticed his behavior towards me a long time ago but she felt it wasn’t her business. She believes he’s obsessed with me. I totally avoid him. He finds ways to trick me into a conversation, even if it’s about something as simple as an NBA game. I don’t interact with him at all but my anxiety is way up. I’m tired of looking over my shoulder, catching him staring at me. I really don’t know what to do. I thought about confronting him in private and asking him to stop. I’m just tired of it.😞

I've been stalked by this old man who lives in the same neighborhood as I do, he came around mid-2016 and he just randomly started to talk to me. It was weird at first because I was 13 turning 14 so I was naive at the time. I legimately thought he was a good man, but as the years went on, the guy was acting weird because he would always know where i was, stop me from doing what I was doing just to talk for hours about sex and all he has to offer is sex. Mind you I was going to a store near my house, and this dude is one block away from me sees me coming out the building, and stops. I ran down to another store to get snacks. The minute I was about to come out the store, I don't know how, but he was across the street and he saw me. I went back inside the store to hide one of the isles, he comes in looking for me and I dash out the store as fast as I possibly could. That was really creepy.

Good stuff! And much more up to date in terms of IT than many other professionals out there. (Spoofed accounts etc. So many people still expect "Paul John" to call himself "Paul John" all the time.) Thank you! A tip back: "If you run a business, so can't make your social media accounts private, hire someone to handle all your social media for you and stay away from social media as much as possible. Do the same with phone calls and e-mails. Outsource it. It is worth the expense. Once you've lost your income as a result of stalking, it's too late. Improve your home security. All locks can be picked; question is how long does it take? So, get good locks. Again, worth the expense. Get a separate mobile for your private life, if you don't have that yet."

Hi I hope I am not being stalked at a store. I was lining up and some strange guy “ says we are wearing the same clothes and then he says we must be soulmates. “ I said “I don’t think so” he did let me go first in line at a 99cent store. I was nervous and scared I said I work then he said he doesn’t work due to his injured shoulder but my current therapist told me never to be rude if there is others in line I am safe. I will no longer go that store since it’s near my current workplace. My therapist told me not to show fear. I am single it’s scary. Just need to be cautious Thankyou for the advice. These days are getting worse. Many are out of work. It’s sad but I don’t want to be a victim of any crime. Stay well and safe 👍

thank you ! You are a life saver , 💟 I have unfortunately had my fair share of stalkers. I'm currently 20 year old New Zealand girl and had to leave my home today due to being stalked. The story goes, I moved into grandparents this week. Grandparents sleep at the top of the mansion while I sleep in the air bnb outside ( more privacy?). My room was in the center of a valley of tall homes over looking my little room. The first night I stayed there it was pouring down with rain and around midnight while I'm trying to sleep I hear indefinitely someone trying to open the sliding door, thank God it was locked!!! I was absolutely paralyzed with fear and went into freeze mode. Two nights later around the same time, it's not raining but I notice someone shine their flashlight in through the crack of the blinds. . . then it disappears. I made sure to lock my door/windows, and will make sure my doors are always locked from now on... A couple minutes of laying there in anxiety I glimpse another light... Then it's gone. My grandparents have never called police nor been broken into before, their neighborhood is supposed to be safe. I realized now that the city I was in, even though it was a good neighborhood, actually has the highest rate of crime in new Zealand (Rotorua) I reported it to police. I slept with a can of fly spray and a lighter for self defense last night. My friend advised me to keep a small spray on deodorant Can and lighter in my purse which I will do from now on to defend myself if anyone attacks me. Also the gate was locked meaning to get into the back yard the would of jumped over part of the fence somewhere probably near the front of the house. Stay safe out there ❤️ xo

An adult woman parked in front of my house one day and waited til my son parked his car; she got out of her car and approached him and asked where a certain store was. In order to get to my house you pass MANY MANY gas stations and businesses BTW she could've knocked on ANY of the doors that were literally surrounding her.

You forgot document everything, every interaction, time, date, who was around you, where were you, what did they do or say, how did you respond and how it made you feel during and after. Have backups on cloud, with lawyer, hard drive. Get a new phone and use that daily but keep the old one!!!! Put both on silent alert, Your stalker wont know the difference if it's the same model and gives you a break from the constant calls and messages making your life more manageable however you must store all the messages and voicemails your stalker sends you, even transcribe the voicemails for cops and log it, gives copies to your lawyer and cops. Get your laptop, phone etc checked for spyware or for hackers, check your vehicle for GPS tracking, if there is a tracker then attach it to someone elses car with permission or drop it in the road gutter infront of your home ... they will think it fell off the vehicle instead and give you a few days being unmonitored. Secure your car in the locked garage, get a pass fob yo open and close so you dont have to get out the vehicle in a vulnerable situation. Keep the garage empty so no one can hide in there. If you can legally have a pin camera in a button or glasses then get one so they dont know you were recording. Have pin cameras on the inside of your home and yes even your bedroom if you think they are getting in and make sure your lawyer knows about them in case the worst happens but dont tell anyone else. Sweep your house for cameras or listening devices your stalker may have left if something is hunky about the home. Put a post cage on your front door letterbox. Use blackout curtains or blinds to stop them from looking in, get net curtains to give you privacy during the day.(whilst I dont like them they do work quite well)...... get CCTV for your home, dash cam for car and pin cams for inside your home. If you have a DIY project then take the opportunity to build yourself a soundproof panic room/cupboard with hidden entrance.... eg behind bookcase with magnet locks and security bolt locks. Get infra red movement detection for the exterior access points of the property, get a monitored alarm system with panic button, the company can dial police for you.if you dont get a concealed carry then a hockey stick/baseball bat/walking stick is good, spread them out around the rooms just in case. If you can upgrade your windows get internally beaded, internal metal frame with interior minimum 6 point locking system... this makes it really difficult to pry the window. Have hinge bolt blockers on your front door to prevent anyone from drilling the hinges, get a digital door peep hole viewer cam intercom so they dont see you look. Get a front door security bar and 4 locks, get the hotel room portable door security devices to slow down someone from breaking through an internal door, if you are in a multi level home (not apartment highrise) consider getting a extendable rope ladder to use as an escape route out a window. Be careful about pets, a stalker is likely to try and kill them just to torture you. Get a guardian dog or a guard dog even a personal protection k9... these cost if trained but could save your life down the line.... however I would also get counselling and get the dog registered as a service dog if you can be diagnosed as having acute anxiety and or PTSD (this works in the usa) that means they can be with you 24/7 legally so you always have some backup. Watch out for stalking by proxy and gang stalking. Let cops know what is going on... not necessarily to file a report but at least so they have your name on their radar, indeed make friends with your local cops. Heck... anyone local with 'interests in keeping the neighbourhoodcquiet from incidences'.... they might help protect you and your home as your stalker could affect their businesses as a mutually beneficial solution... just dont get taken in by their ways. (I actually had to do that, I told them I didnt care about their careers as that's their own business and I dont need or want to get involved however having cops screaming around because of a stalker would be inconvenient for everyone....... it helped in my situation as we had met before and had an understanding.... they left me alone, i left them alone. they would walk on the opposite side of the street with me in their patch and kept an eye out for my stalker). Learn the bottle door handle trick. Reduce the clutter in your home. Get self defence classes.... kravv maga is good, muy tai is good, learn to run 5k and learn to blend in. Keep your daily routine random and less predictable. Let your neighbours know, tell your friends.... just being real a stalker will try to isolate you from them by making your friends lives miserable, they might even push your friends into an altercation to deliberately file charges against them or you. Dont talk with your stalker, that goes for whoever is with you. Your friends might see it as trying yo help you by telling your stalker to get lost but it only adds fuel to their perverted needs. If you go out with friends take a registered taxi.... make friends with a driver so they know what is going on..... your stalker wont know where you are going, how long for etc and is more difficult to track. Be warned some stalkers file reports on you first with cops before you can to make them look like the victim instead of being the criminal. Always have receipts for where ever you go, a daily calendar log of where and approx what time. if you see a camera eg security cam in a store, shop, mall, street look at it directly to make sure your face is clearly identifiable. Whilst this hasn't happened to me I heard of one stalker setting fire to one persons house, have fire extinguishers where possible just in case.

But in the meantime I'm going to carry a horn and mace and a recorder that looks like a watch on my wrist that way I can record him when he comes near me. I'm aware they can take that mace away from you but there are the ones that look like a silicone wristband on your wrist that you can wear.

They always win whether you report them or not. Your life is ruined regardless of what you do. The reason why is it's not your problem. It's the state's and when the state doesn't care, criminals will win.

I'm a man, and the stalker have been obssed with me for almost 3 years. He thinks I'm his couple or some other delusion. After 2 years of no new messages, and after erase everything about myself in social media and Google. The terror began again and this time try to add my family to his facebook. This time I feel more confident in my life. So I stalked him back. I laughed at every delusion and without remorse I told him to kill himself. He closed all his main accounts, although he probably has dozens. It's a small win. Everytime he contact me is such a negative feel, that ruins all my peace. I'm talking about someone I saw once in my life!

Google thinks that I'm a woman being stalked by a man, when the opposite is true. Google also says that my situation is exceedingly rare, and that I ought to call the cops. My stalker is related to cops, and she's part of the reason that cops give me a hard time. I give up. I'm joining the defund movement. I know that doesn't hurt anybodys feelings, but that's kind of the point isn't it.

What to do about cyber stalking?

I disagree. You should absolutely get a protective order and report the stalker to police. You should not refrain from reporting your stalker in fear that they will retaliate. You must report the stalker, get the stalker arrested if necessary. Also, arm yourself, learn self defense and get security around your home and take whatever measures necessary to live in safety. Running and hiding is not the answer.

I'm currently being stalked by some creeps in my apartment building. They just can't leave me in peace! I'm looking for another apartment in order to get away from these weirdos. I've contacted the police, made stalking logs, and hope the police can help me by catching these criminals. One of my stalkers was on my apartment balcony at 4:30 AM pulling on my sliding glass door and trying to get into my apartment! It’s so hard because this person met me online in a game. Managed to use my first and last name from the account my game is tied to, to get the voter registry and get my address and phone number. Now they’re making multiple Facebook accounts and bombarding the local small business I work for with gruesome pictures and threats. Reporting and blocking for a year so far and it’s not slowing down. They keep making submissions to my local government using my information. I'll get follow up emails from these websites as a confirmation of what I sent. The lack of someone human on Facebook to tell, half my reports don’t even get accepted cuz the accounts they make are so new. I’m at a complete loss! I haven’t engaged either and it’s still happening so frequently! I have set all my profiles to private and the ONLY way they have to get to me is my Job's social media account. I feel terrible because so many people work here and are indirectly affected by it. We can't just close the account or change a business name. I feel so bad and weirdly responsible for this happening..

I had to call the police to try to get rid of this woman name Cynthia who lives across the street from me. She has camera's pointed all around my house and watch everything I do. She wants something from my friend but he hates her. I don't know if it's romantic or what. He wouldn't talk to her if there's was no me. She says she is a so called private investigator. She really needs help. I hope she repents and God speaks to her heart so she leave us alone and realize she doesn't know God at all.

Stalkers you dont know, the police will ID him for you, especially in a small town. They will give you their name, address and date of birth for you to fill out a court order. I dont agree that you should fear the most violent ones!!! Those are the very ones you should file on immedietly!

I have a staker ex-spouse. Even with evidence clearly presented to the judge, my entire evidence was ignored. So the lawyers could make money. There is no help for domestic violence victims in the court.
