Ikr, took apart my car to change my clutch… upon reinstalling everything I found broken parts and now my car has been off the road for 2 weeks while I fix it 😢 😭
@@user-ck9rq2pm2f да мне тоже прилетело когда стоял рядом с верстаком а товарищ шестерню таким способом пытался сбить, хотя и пресс под рукой был у трёх метрах от него)))
I hit a hammer with a hammer, and now I have a 3mmx1.5mm splint from the hammer that got hit in my hand. Hit alot of hammers with a hammer since, but it happens..
And how do you feel about hitting a punch with a hammer? No offset of the hand at all there, a miss is a struck hand. At least with a hammer you've got some offset to the hand.
Been battling for ages to get off & finally resorting to angle grinding the last remaining piece. The use of 2 hammers is the perfect solution THANK YOU 🏆
JUST GREAT !. We battled for ages hitting with one large hammer eventually having to angle grind the last knuckle off. Ended up damaging the good INNER CV on the other side of the shaft which then also had to be replaced. EXCELLENT METHOD.
А потом осколки от молотков у себя из рук, ног, или не дай бог глаз выковыривать. Молоток об молоток бить нельзя, только наставка!!!! Грамотеи. А вообще есть инерционный съёмник для гранат, и не только.
@@bw523 I mean ya your right but apparently your not aware of the fact that he’s in Ukraine and they are in the middle of a war with Russia for quite some time now……lol gotta do what you gotta do I respect this guy for continuing every day just like the other.
I think the CV joint needed to be replaced before he hit it on the ground. If only it had to be greased and fitted with a new bellows, the action would be fraudulent on the customer, but we don't know that. Cutting towards the arm with the knife is highly risky, but not for the customer.
Thats tje exact way to remove a cv joint . I don't know why people wanna seam smart in the comments, I swear a master tech could do an emaculant repair and people that don't know shit would comment 😂😅 emojis and say how they'd do better,
@@johncoldwell340 The french brand Renault and others use an incessible clip indide the CV joint. you can see it only when the whole thing is apart. If the CV doesn't get out by hammer, you need to destroy the ball bearing inside the cv joint and cut the internal part with a grinder, then you can change the CV joint. Not a fast part change.
@@quidelicia1 strange though, I never remember cutting one off a renault before, but I know exactly what you mean had that problem with transit customs
X5 on a lift. Separate lower ball joint. Cut boot off, wipe out grease, air hammer on inner edge of joint near shaft pops right out. Slide on new boot and clamps. Reinstall shaft and joint. Fill boot with grease, clamp boot. Send it.
People using these fucking air powered stretchers to do a cv boot, this is exactly what sets apart a mechanic from a fitter. A fitter throws new parts at something, a mechanic fixes things
that's because they can chip and that tiny piece can fly off and hurt you or even bury itself into your skin. Don't ask me how I know. That doesn't mean you wont get away with it but someday it could happen. Not a good practice.
@@kwaczas someone who has a piece of hardened metal chip off while I was helping a guy air chisel something, it stuck right in my abdomen. You can see it under the skin and play with it with a magnet.😂 also you shouldn’t hit the joint with a steel hammer. Brass is preferred.
Reason why you never hit two hammers together is because that they are both hardened and they will splinter or explode shooting shrapnel at you! Punches and chisels are softer material designed to be hit that’s the reason they mushroom
That’s a punch hammer head. It’s ment to be used like a punch Basically a punch with a hole and a handle. Anyhow. I would wear safety glasses when striking with a hammer. Not all do.
Last CV I bought was around $45 dollars at O’riellys. I’d rather pay that price for new, than to pay you to rebuild. Rebuilding doesn’t seem cost effective, unless your labor is free.
I have encountered axel wher two new boots cost more than a complate new axal. It depends on whitch model car it is . I have done lotes of boot replacements repack included, when it is cheapest way to go.
The last time I had to replace a CV joint, it was cheaper to buy the whole rebuilt driveshaft with two new CV, joints and boots, and just put it in. It may have been $20 more to get an entirely new driveshaft with two new boots and two new CV joints as opposed to buying just The new CV joint and replacing just one… Check first
@@AwesomenessIskey but if your changing it yourself and its not too bad of a job on your vehicle, they usually come with a lifetime warranty from autozone so if it ever fails you just swap it out. Youre only buying it once.
The cheap chinese knock offs dont last as long as your original or oem. If you csn get away with just replacing the boot, go ahead and keep your old part
