In this video, we'll cover how to carry out a watch accuracy test with a timegrapher , Improve the accuracy of the watch through a process called “watch regulation”.
Timegrapher is an indispensable tool in watch repair for checking how well the movement of a watch is functioning. With it, we can determine the time deviation per day of a movement .
*** All the tools can be found in eBay or Aliexpress .
Hope you will find this video helpful =)

Thanks for the tips. The F6922 in my Kamasu settled on +8.5..9 spd, which I didn't like, so regulated it to *under* 0.5 spd (in the all-day-round wearing mode) with the help of a software timegrapher on Android. Really requires some micrometric precision. In this case, only "dial down" position was available to me, but the trick is you want to get the software grapher to show about +5 spd in this "dial down" position, then it will be perfect on the wrist when it settles. The movement itself is extremely stable and shows very little positional deviation, if any. Never saw such performance before. Kudos to Orient!

Adjust the beat error first..., the beat error should closed to 0 s/d. Maximum accpetable is 0,3 s/day

Always push the regulator horizontally. Pushing the regulator with the tool vertically is very risky to damage the balance spring.

Does the movement need to be stopped while adjusting, or left running?

Now that I have my watch, it seems to very consistent 6-8 seconds a day. I'm going to wait until three months before I adjust it. Or I will live it as is.

@@WizardWatchMany who don't fuss about accuracy in mechanical watches that aren't high end prefer it this way and it's okay. The opposite position is lots of fun IMO (if it doesn't become an obsession that compromises healthy aspects of one's life) -- enthusiasts strive to get the best precision that these watches can deliver. Considering that Seiko 5s, for example, can rival so many high end chronometers in precision per day for such a low price -- especially (but not necessarily) if they're regulated -- it seems to me very exciting. In fact, the only reason I didn't purchase the Seiko 5 equivalent of a Rolex Datejust 2 years ago was that it had become a bit too costly to my taste.

Hello. I have Omega Speedmaster, very old watch, automatic, and I have this part for regulating, but there is no + and - . It doesn say where is + and where s -. Can this part be adjustet at all? Does every automatic have this part for adjusting it? Now, the watch is in hurry 6 minutes every day.

I would try to find a manual of its movement on the internet, where there should be such details of the regulator. If I didn't find this manual, or found it and still wouldn't be sufficiently confident about regulating the watch's time by myself, I'd try to find a qualified watchmaker who knows how to handle old watches properly. I don't believe in taking uncalculated risks.
