Wonderful! Taro, you've explained and demonstrated "effortless effort" so clearly that I can experience the connection and the beauty of movement patterns.

OK I see that question has already been answered and I completely understand your thorough explanation of that makes sense. I have scoliosis with an ask her, so I’m used to doing most everything on both sides.

Thank you Taro. After doing the exercise on the two sides I felt my body as a whole lose , easy to move. Lots of thanks.

I am getting bent over, like my back curves in a C-shape. This seems like a helpful video. Can you recommend some of your other videos? I like your videos very much.

Hi taro I’m coming here after watching you scoliosis brain retraining videos from 8 months ago. Me personally i have a upper back scoliosis(mild thoracic scoliosis to my right). My question is do those exercises help you to lessen the curve angle of the spine meaning straightening the spine or do they just help you feel better with the curvature that you have if that makes sense. If you have any more exercises and tips me and a lot more people would like to hear them😊

Hi! We are so culturally trained to think about our bodies in a compartmentalized way and mechanical way. So many therapists and trainers tell you what you need to "fix" and correct. Many look at scoliosis from a structural/mechanical perspective, thus, naturally they assume that the solution is to "fix" the spine, correct the spine alignment, and they prescribe corrective exercises and brace. This way of thinking has become the norm so we don't even question if there's another way to look at. That's what I'm bringing into my youtube channel! Looking and thinking from a functional perspective, and a perspective of the nervous system, we can observe how we use and move our bodies in daily activities. We then begin to notice our habitual movement patterns, and how those patterns are related to our current conditions. Once we become aware of those things clearly, then, you can explore different ways of moving (retraining your brain, movement patterns), which will then lead to changes in your conditions. This would mean changes in the curvature of the spine too. You change your functions = retrain your nervous system and movement patterns, this will lead to changes in structure. Hope this helps

Thanks for the video. I saw you had a few regarding the nervous system. What would you recommend in regards to anxiety and stress causing tension and tightness in the body and how to stop it?
@TaroIwamoto
@TaroIwamoto 18 дней назад
through movement practice you learn how to connect with your body, how to sense and feel your body, and as you do that, you regulate your nervous system, which has an effect on reducing tension, stress, and anxiety.

Thank you for your videos. I have a question..... Can your movement techniques help someone with MS?
@TaroIwamoto
@TaroIwamoto 2 месяца назад
absolutely! energy conservation is one key principle for people with MS as you know. My teaching focuses on nervous system retraining and movement retraining. You will retrain your nervous system and reorganize your movement patterns so you can move more efficiently with less effort and strain = energy conservation.

hello, thank you for your videos and information. today I signed up for the master class, which is the link below, I started to watch it on my phone and about 5mins in it stops, when you start to talk about the slides and i can not see any thing. I accidentally, when watching it on my lap top, clicked the complete button and did not realise that this was complete to say i had watched the course, which i had not. is there any way I can watch this as every time i sign in it says its complete, which it is not. I can not find a way to go back. very much appreciated for your help. kind regards.

Thank you. Can I ask would it be good to lie on one side first and then the other to balance out the body. As I have fibromylagia. So would like to know if this OK to do ?

somone else asked a similar question. Here's my reply: "you can do both sides if you wish to, but not necessary. why? because, both sides are moving (opposite direction), and you're retraining your nervous system, and teaching your brain that your body functions together as a whole so your neck is a part of the rest of your body."
