Perfect video, helped to fix all issues i have with my 1.9 zafira b. I have changed the throttle as i oil inside the electrical part, engine light disappeared and the car regained full power. Also changed the faulty map sensor as the rpm max at 30 with no power and engine light is on, all ok sfter charging map sensor, i changed the air filter and cleaned the egr and maf same time with the map sensor change and the car is performance is very good. Honesly this video helped me more thsn the workshop as they couldn't figure out the problem and they suspected bad turbo which is not correct. Hopefully my comments are helping others facing same issue.
many thanks ! for the tips. i was having problems on low speeds 60kmh when gently accelerate car was struggling cutting out. no problem on the shut down . found loot of oil in the connection and inside the body. after cleaning works well , no more problem. vectra C 1.9 dt 88kw. thank you !!!!!
Great video thank you :) Edit : today i got power loss on my alfa 159jtdm can't go up from 20km/h and 2000rpm i stopped turned the engine off and started again no problem - map maf dpf egr are ok i had a throttle body error on diagnostic so this video is uber useful for cleaning everything :)
Perfect video to see how it is done, even this EGR was not so bad, and if there was problem it was in MAF and would be great if solenoid was disassembled also, but also was OK, so lucky for him not much hard work :). But really great video for anyone to manage to get it done. Even all other things on this car and motor (i have Zafira) are complicated and lot of effort, this tutorial and every tip is perfectly shaped and so well incorporated, so this job is really easy if you have right tools. WELL DONE !!!!!!
That throttle body is such an abomination... Having the electronics directly under the drive mechanism inevitably floods it with a mixture of oil, soot and condensate. Cleaning it out helps when the ECU starts throwing random errors but the problem will return, as the leaky lower seal of the throttle itself is almost impossible to fix. Why didn't they simply turn the whole unit 90 degrees, putting the electronics box on the side? The space is there.

Can it be a problem with dirty throttle body when pressing the gas gently and car struggling? Looks like turbo cutting off or something like that. There is some oil around throttle body
Never thought of disconnecting the cooler pipe, looks easier than my method but everything else i do! And the anti shudder valve or throttle body collects a crazy amount of oil in its base
What causes the oil to leak into the circuit board box as just cleaned mine and was full to brim of oil thankfully all cleaned and working properly again

Klapa jest otwarta przez cały czas. Pilnuje tego dość mocna sprężyna :) Na czas gaszenia silnika sterownik wysyła impuls do przepustnicy, która za sprawą silniczka w przepustnicy zamyka klapkę na ok. 2-4 sekundy. Przepustnica nie działa wyłącznie jako klapa gasząca. Wykorzystywana jest również przez sterownik w trakcie wypalania filtra DPF.
I have a problem with my automatic zafira 1.9 cdti, after 40 minutes on the road or in the city, when changing gears the revolutions go up and hit the third gear, will it be the problem of the electronics of the throttle body?
These 1.9 120hp seem to go through a period of surging ,and even stalling .at very awkward places throttle body problems fuel problems egr problems fuel sensors they seem to have an array of problems my advice would be check everything, as I even had to replace the fuel pump not a bad engine these fait units if cared for, I have 150000 on mine now with no oil usage no leaks no problems with the automatic sealed gearboxes in fact this the most superior I have driven better than mercs or bmw etc. Don't give up one day it all comes together.
why is there oil in the electronic side of the throttle body? some people are saying it's because of the turbo but this is happening for almost 3 years, and turbo is still kicking....so it must be something else.
There is always oil in the intercooler system and its normal, in fact it's oily compressed air coming from the turbo. The problem is that the sealing in the throttle body is crap and lets the oils run down to the electronics. In fact this is not a big problem. Almost each throttle's electronics has a swim in oil and its ok for many years.
Through the axis on which the flap is mounted. Over time it loses tightness and oil from the intake gets inside. I still don't know if there is any sealing or if the tightness disappears with the wear of the axle and the throttle body.
