How to remove VW bus ignition cylinder 

This is helpful, thanks! I had good luck with a bit of penetrating oil around the circlip, so it wasn't difficult to wiggle the "pod" up and off the steering tube so you're only dealing with the pod and not the whole long assembly of both.
