Best video online on how to replace a key fob battery for a Toyota rav4! I have a 2011 Toyota RAV4 and all I had to do was buy a CR2016 battery, watch this video/follow the steps, and that’s it. :)

Pay close attention to the battery number. I was trying to place a CR 2032 into a slot for CR 2016. Not all disc "watch" batteries are the same. My 2032 was twice as thick which was my problem. Now I at least know to get a new battery, but I suspect the rest of the video is all correct. Thanks.

Great how to video except when I took My 2008 Rav4 keyfob apart there was a very thin rubber piece as a liner that isn't in the video.

I also had trouble when my open close and panic buttons popped out, I didn't expect that and used tweezers to place the 3 in their very tiny slots.

I think it happened due to the force I Used opening the outer shell of the Fob, I was expecting it to be more Difficult to open.

Thanks for the video. Worked like a charm. The only thing is you could be a little clearer as to where the slot is for the inside. I couldn't tell where it was from your video and it took me a while to find it. Other than that, your instructions were very good.

This key has to be programmed by a professional, you cannot do it yourself. We recommend going to a automotive locksmith.

The part where you pry the panel apart is too dark and your fingers are in the way so sot helpful. I can't see where to put the screwdriver

Question? Will a 2032 3V Part# 2032BP-6 Lithium battery work in this keyfob?

If it fits in the case, it should work. But the OEM specs are a CR2016

2032 is too thick to fit. I tested my 2010 and it did not work. I was able to fit a 2025 in but it was really still to thick to fit properly. They last two numbers are the battery thickness in mm. 2016 is 1.6mm thick and 2032 is double the thickness at 3.2mm.
