In this video I show how to remove/install the passenger tail light assembly on a Chevy Malibu. The car in the video is a 2020 model, other model years/trims might be slightly different but the basic process is the same.
Tools needed:
flat head screwdriver
needle nose pliers
8mm wrench or socket

I have a 2020 Malibu LT. Can you not simply just buy new LED bulbs for rear housing? I need to do reverse LED bulbs. Also brake light & turn signal bulb

Are these tail lights truly plug and play even for the trunk light that has to be taken out to ?

These are the factory taillights so I'm not sure what you mean. Since they are LED there is no individual bulb you have to remove

@@RDMotoring they advertise as plug and play I have a 2016 Malibu it’s stock brake lights the regular ones not those I’ll have to check them out and see if the plug matches the one on them then I’d guess it’d work still

@@daniel6974 One thing to watch out for is the coolant elbows. They are made of plastic and just deteriorate over time, causing a rapid leak and overheating. When I replaced mine I went with aluminum replacements (about $16). Other than that it's a stout car that will last a long time with regular maintenance

I believe the exterior shape is the same but the overall style and inner side are a bit different.

@@morlo1053 I'm honestly not sure, I don't have a 2016 to compare it to. I believe the shape is the same but the difference is the LED vs halogen bulbs. It will be a different plug.
