Hey bro, you made everything look super easy. My father in law and I had some trouble just changing the front wheel bearing on a similar Corolla(2011 Corolla). We never thought of pushing out the riveted part of the nut on the axle and as we got the nut off, we noticed the threads wore off on the axle 🤯 So after replacing the bearings I noticed a slight wobble on the passenger side of the axle, at acceleration, so I know I have to replace that soon. Anyway, just want to say thanks for this video and I'll use it for future reference. 👍🏼

This approach Works fantastically! I've seen other videos where the guys are messing with the alignment nuts & bolts at the base of the strut: bad idea!! You certainly don't want to screw up the camber in the alignment.. taking off two nuts & bolt at the bottom of the lower A arm is the correct suggestion!!

Pro tip. The suspension is extended all the way, without the weight of the vehicle on it.that boot is supposed to be there. that's in the event that it raises too high and doesn't hit metal on metal in the CV axle. Hypothetically, speeding over a speed bump. 100% supposed to be like that.

This is the correct way to do this. Undoing lower strut bolts changes camber/caster adjustment and most if not every time you loosen those bolts and move the strut you will need an alignment afterwards. Removing the lower control arm nuts at the ball joint is exactly why they are designed that way, as to not interfere with alignment.

The dealership replaced my cv axle free of charge but now I have a different noise/vibration that sounds like a motorcycle is driving somewhere near by its not loud and it doesn't sound like scraping but I suspect they botched the job. @@RBTheMechanic thank you for your time to answer, by the way, every time i turn right, i heard the sound.

@@poparin2697 it might be ur left axle because it got to make wider turn but it can be either to be honest I would change them both they prolly equally worn out also. DO NOT put cheap axle DO NOT put rebuilt axle u will most likely end up doing it against get brand new axle

the axle you took out was the factory axle, the new one you bought did not have the vibration bumper which is that rubber balancing bushing on the axle, which is very important i have been working on toyota,s my whole life do not use a axle with out the vibration bushing you will be sorry, it wont last it will start vibration around 30 to 50K miles and could damage the differential , use Toyota factory axles at all cost save alot of money and labor in the long run.
@broelliott

after market axles are junk , you get well over 100k miles on factory , you never get that on after market , use factory axles and get another 100k miles toyotas run for ever it well worth it.
