Thanks for the informative and helpful video. I've been meaning to figure this machine out for a while now. I have a feeling it will play a part in sorting out the lower back issues that I have developed after years of desk work and driving.

Your upper back is hyperextending too far. Your chest should be closer to the pad too like you’re almost lying flat on it. Check out Louie Simmons’ videos. He invented the reverse hyper.

OK you are the only person besides me who has figured out how to mount this machine without having to jump. It's so much easier to use that little built in step and slide your foot thru. I would tell the gym bros at the gym how to do that but they don't like women telling them how to do stuff. They get mad enough when I ask them to move all of their gym gear off the reverse hyper so I can actually use it. Thanks for the video!

if you wanted to isolate glutes rather than entire chain, would you let the upper body stay down and then just lift with lower body?

So, that swinging motion is the ticket? As compared to a slower, clean form; I've always wondered why everyone used the swinging motion? I need that.

It does but generally it's done the way she explained some people pause when getting stronger with this equipment at the point you raise your legs level at top.

Rad video . Hahahah i bought one for my gym. I love it, everyone else hates it. Helped me through some back problems, i had forever. 😄 everyone else just puts there keys and drinks on it. I still make the use it for though.

If it is for back injury rehab, nothing replaces it. You can certainly do multiple exercises that decompress and strengthen the spine but nothing replaces the reverse hyper. You can however do it on a Glute Ham Developer machine but adding weight can be tricky.

Yes this is another great way to use the reverse hyper by adding in tempo like you mentioned and even unilateral work.

If you use the reverse hyper correctly it should target your lower back much more than your glutes, per the inventor of it Louise Simmons.

Compound lifts serve to target multiple muscles. Their the most effective way to develop all around muscle mass and size per Louie Simmons

This is incorrect form. Your head position stays the same and you hyper extend at the top and dont completely decompress at the bottom. You explain it ok but the execution is not at a level where you should be teaching anyone.

Seems very different than what Louie Simmons recommends to how to properly use this...he specifically says not to do some of the things she's doing. I'd be careful using this video's advice to not injury yourself with her form.
