How To Setup Server.cfg | ArmA 3 

Bruce King When you make your own mission and want to play it, you "Export To Multiplayer" (one of the save options in the top left of the Mission Editor) and it will be in your ArmA 3 directory's "MPmissions" folder. This separately saves the mission as a PBO there, but will still be in your "My Documents\ArmA 3 - Other Profiles\\missions\" folder also, if you made the mission. Putting your mission PBO in your server's MPmissions folder and referencing it in your "server.cfg" on the server will run that mission, assuming the mods (if any) used on the mission are also loaded/initialized onto the server.

Donald Lungrin Just uploaded a video which may help. It may be different if you use Linux, but the server.ArmA3Profile should have the same configurable settings.

Bruce King That is an issue I haven't been able to figure out. I assumed it was because it was a dedicated server and had -autoInit in the server's initialization commands line, but if you were able to adjust parameters on your dedicated server before using mine, I'd like to know what was different.

Unless you want a message to appear in your RPT file, then you'd want to add: diag_log format["This message will only appear in the server's RPT file"];

+TeenWhisperss If you're renting a dedicated server from a company, such as PurePings, you'll have to log into the website and open a ticket asking their technical guys to add the command for you. All server providers I've used also have a command line button or something like that on the site when you're logged in and may let you put it in yourself without having to open a ticket.

Add -autoInit to the server init command line, I think that will help if I understand your issue correctly.

Refer to the Server.Arma3Profile.cfg to configure the difficulties on your server. I have a video on it. The difficulty option for third person is thirdPersonView=1;

FrankieHustla thanks that's what im seing in the server, but the maker of asr says it will if I use the default .cfg. I am using default and I think he may be mistaken on this. when I set fp to on the server sometimes will not load the next apex mission and the ai voices go slow and deep. setting fp to off stops the deep voices. why would this happen, it seems a little strange

In your server's init command line. If you're renting a server, it should be pretty streamlined and easy to do. You may need to open a ticket with your server provider for them to add it.

If you don't have a dedicated server, you don't have a server.cfg

Easiest way is to rent a dedicated server from a server provider. I would currently recommend ArmaHosts, since they're dirt cheap. For the BEST servers, I'd recommend NFOServers, but they're costly. I've had absolutely no issues with ArmaHosts, however. In addition, the server.cfg will be located in your dedicated sever's ArmA 3 directory.

In the server.cfg, set this setting: voteMissionPlayers=0;

***** Use a program like WinSCP to connect to your server's address using the username, password, and server address. Once you're in, you can upload files such as mod folders. The issue I ran into, personally, is you MUST drag the files from YOUR ArmA 3 directory TO the server's ArmA 3 directory. Had issues doing it from other locations. Once the mods are uploaded, your server provider's website should have a command line somewhere when you're logged into the site to customize it so you can run mods or additional commands. For example, a mod command line which enables CBA, Task Force Radio, and ACE3 would be this: -mod=@CBA_A3;@task_force_radio;@ace3;

According to the wiki, it's still relevant in the server.cfg and determines the desired difficulty selection for that mission.

kk thx will try now. do you know of a way from inside arma3 to show what difficulty settings its using just to make sure its using the right one. also is there any way to make the coop server let you save. on one mission I ran on my pc it said 0 0 1 to save and that worked okay, but now on a dedi server it says it but nothing happens when you press 001

Basically, upload the @mod folders to your dedicated server using a program like WinSCP or FileZilla and then enable them through an init command on the server like this: -mod=@CBA_A3;@task_force_radio;@ace; You can do configure the init command on your server through your dedicated server provider's website when you log in. Usually there's a control panel of some sort on the site that will let you do this. If not, you'll have to open a ticket with your dedicated server provider and ask for help with that.

May have placed too many ALIVE modules of same kind in mission or you're enabling Alive more than once in the -mod= part of the server's command line. Also, you're missing a plants addon that terrain requires.

They buy the game, lmao. It's cheaper on G2A.com. ArmA 2 can be played after pirating it because it was before Steam was really integrated into ArmA 3. ArmA 3 has a bunch of features that come directly from Steam, such as achievements, statistics, server support, etc.

Unknown to do it you have to get a crack, like the one your friends would use on there game. Once replaced it should work.
