How to start a pool cleaning business is a question I am asked pretty often. In this video I talk about what we at Pool Rescuers are currently doing to grow our business. We just came out of our busy season of summer and are entering into the slower season. This season we struggled with:
pools turning green
issues not being reported
techs not completing work when it was scheduled
I decided to sit down with my manager techs and figure out how we could prevent these issues in the future. We also spoke about what our main focuses should be with growing our pool cleaning business.
Most important steps moving forward
Our team decided that the main focus on moving forward should be a WINNING team. We immidatly wrote down all the key factors that our next service techs should have in order to work for us. Once this list was in place we put out the hiring ads. We recieved a lot of interest in the position but had very few applicants qualify for what we were looking for. We moved forward on two applicants and quckly realized they did not fit our team. Being discouraged and having to let the new guys go were were back at square one.
Where we are now
We most recently hired two service techs that we could not pass up on. They started with us and quickly started to show that they were winners. our first applicant hired had no prior experance in the industy but caught on quickly. The second applicant came over from another pool service provider and has shown us that he knows his stuff and is a good fit for our company.
What now
Now we are over staffed and under worked. Our team is now working on making sure we get the jobs needed to be able to cut checks at the end of the week. Subscribe to our channel to follow our journey.

Many thanks, I've been looking for "open cleaning company" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Ceymily Wondeline Domination - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my brother in law got amazing results with it.

Great content. I teach elementary art full time and started a small pool route 5 years ago. I only have 20 clients. I Have a nice tight route next to home that puts extra cash in my pocket each month. I enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing. I service pools in Vegas, so I am slightly cooler in temps than you but not much lol. This monsoon season has been brutal this past month. I recently got into calcium blasting; wish I started that sooner, it makes pretty good coin in my area.

Some God loving dude sorry for the bad misrepresentation of video to header. Not a professional RU-vidr, clearly. I suggest getting an Llc and general liability. This is huge and easy to do. After that I suggest start learning water chemistry so that you can start manipulating water. The more you learn about this the better and more comfortable you’ll feel in the field. Third would be to learn where you want to do you advertising. Google, Facebook, yelp, home adviser, and word of mouth. I suggest focusing on one at first and pushing it hard. There’s also nothing wrong with working for someone for a few months to get some basic knowledge of pool functionality. Patrick Moltrup thank you for the comment. My techs run about 80-90 I’m winter and then I try to get them down to 70-80 in summer. The extra pools go on a repair tech in summer. Good luck with starting man. You can connect with us on Instagram if you wanna chat more back and forth

How is 5 to many techs at 250 pools Because that’s 50 pools per tech divided by five days a week is 10 pools a day for each tech

What are your thoughts for someone who wants to start a pool filter cleaning business? I know with how busy everyone gets doing the normal pool maintenance they don't have the time to clean filters on a regular basis

Summer is the easy season dude... how do u all do during fall? You know when the leafs are falling. I clean/build/repair/remodel pools

Dan Theman in the fall temps aren’t as high, people aren’t using the pools and chem cost drop down over 50% summers kill us. I’d take fall over summer. Thanks for the interaction bro we appreciate it

Dope Aquariums a new service tech just starting off with us makes about $33k a year just servicing pools. The second they start doing repairs, installs, and such that number goes up significantly

Pool Rescuers I’m in Los Angeles I’m tryin to learn the trade ..I do water features and koi pond maintenance right now .. do you suggest I take a course or school for pools maintance and repairs

Dope Aquariums usually you can get on the job training. So if you get hired by a local company they will train. If you’re going to do it on your own. Learn about water chemistry and then get started

@@PoolRescuers are you still answering questions about this? im looking into getting a golden parachute job for the weekends so i am looking at business to start on my time off weekends and such. i like outside work and as long as it pays a certain amount im ok with not trying to get rich quick and easy, so i am looking at first steps such as licensing and insurance here in Florida. any advice would be appreciated!!
