theFitty me! 🙋🏼 constant struggle... so frustrating & I just don't know how to break the cycle. I try to just listen to my body but some days something just comes over me. The other night I came home work so stressed out & I ate a good 1000 calories of "healthy food" in minutes. I don't even remember actually tasting the food. Ugh.... you are definitely not alone with the struggle

Ah that's so relieving that I'm not alone! I ate an entire jar of peanut butter more than once and it was horrifying how I felt physically and emotionally afterwards. It's a lot better now, and I haven't binged in a long time and when I do it is occasional; I help out other girls recover from BED like myself now!

Sarah, I love you, but I think that the word "binge" is a little overused or better, misused. I think that your tips are perfect for "how to beat overeating or snacking", because binge eating is a mental disfunctionality in which food is the answer and not the cause...

Silvia Fascians that's exactly what I was about to say. I love Sarah too and those tips are great ...but only for people who tend to overeat or snack too much. Binge eating is on literally a whole other level and much harder to get rid off than bad eating habits

Silvia Fascians I think she is referring to binging as a blanket term. Binging as in eating a lot of food at once without much control. It's still mental but not necessarily a disorder for every case.

Claire Boyle highly recommend you reading the book Brain over Binge by Kathryn Hansen... I literally got over my 4 years of Bulimia thanks to that book; you can find it on amazon, I swear you won't regret it

Silvia Fascians you're partially right. binging is a word used to describe a behavior associated with eating disorders. the word however is not exclusively used in association with those disorders. it becomes a disorder when the act of binging becomes compulsive and overwhelms a person's daily life. absolutely. and that is not a situation to be taken lightly. but it's not helping anyone to claim that word to those situations alone. I really feel it only perpetuates stigma about mental illness.

Adrienne Lawless the difference is the processing... cocoa is alkalized and doesn't have the health benefits (kind of like refined to unrefined oils) that cocao has... the cocao bean is really high in antioxidants and she explains a lot of it I think in her superfoods video that is toward the beginning of her channel. So it's the purest form of chocolate.. Hope this helps. I now only use cocao when baking or buying chocolate. It's more bitter but I know it is better and still manages to curb my cravings.

Genuine health fermented greens protein!! Tastes amazing and helps aid in digestion from the fermentation. Contains greens and blends so smoothly! I get mine from Amazon and I've also seen it at Bristol Farms for a dollar or so more.

If you watch her videos from the beginning, you can kind of see her body changing and correlate whats she's doing to show results. (she really focuses on listening to your particular body.)

itsgracechang it's difficult, atleast for me also, but you will see results. I recommend trying protein right after you workout, and don't spot train!! That will tone your muscles but you won't have the cardio to burn the fat over your muscles. If you do cardio, try intervals of going at it really hard then normal. Just get excited!!

Hey Sarah! I just wanted to say I love your channel and I appreciate your content. I struggle with balancing a healthy lifestyle with... well life lol. Your channel definitely keeps me on track. Last week I was on vacation all week with a great great friend of mine BUT she's definitely more of a party animal I am. So I felt like being around that kind of temptation made me lose track of my goals and healthy thoughts. I just came home the other day and I feel like crap from over indulging in crappy things and not staying active. But I started watching your videos this morning and it's definitely helped to remind me get motivated again so I appreciate it so much! Keep the good content coming :)

Rachel Carey that’s so helpful, I did that for a while. I began to notice trends that by evening I was craving way more sweet foods. I also noticed that my breakfast where tiny compared to any other meal

Something that I encourage my clients to do that they find helpful is to track a day of eating or create a template that hits their macros and then sort of stick with this (or like you said write it out), it helps eliminate feeling like you need to create new cool recipes every single day, d typically people tend to be creatures of habit and eat the same things a lot! But this approach helps still reach your target intake depending on your goal, and once you do write it out you can totally make swaps and its super easy! So I think its a great idea to write it down!

Hi Sarah! I also tend to binge on a lot of foods but I mostly crave sugary treats such as cookies and chocolates. It's especially hard to resist these foods when I am living with my boyfriend and he keeps a big jar of Nutella along with a stash of chocolate goodies in the house. Last week I demolished the whole jar of Nutella in his house and then I was so guilty and scared to admit it that I secretly bought a new jar to replace it. I have a serious problem when it comes to keeping my hands off the sugary treats, even the healthy ones that I buy in bulk so that I can snack on one occasionally get devoured in a day! Apart from that I try to eat chicken and healthy salads, protein shakes but it's my addiction to sugary food (I never had fast food or pizzas in my life since I rarely crave salty foods) that's keeping me from reaching my fitness goals :(

DONT keep these in your house and maybe speak to your bf about keeping them somewhere you dont they are there in his house....I have similar problem and honestly this is the only thing that works.....I make my bf put anything like that out of sight when I come over.... maybe not the healthiest solution but it works...

Mary Cusack It's not exactly the same but I use Vega protein. I'm not vegan but I like it because it has servings of greens, some probiotics, and fatty acids. It's also sweetened with stevia so it doesn't have much sugar.

My problem is nuts! My addiction to nuts is ridiculous!!! Seriously, I can eat a whole pack or a jar of nuts and still not be satisfied. I don't eat peanuts, but I eat a LOT of cashews and almonds and perhaps in moderation they are great for your body, but when you eat as much as I do and sometimes I can eat only nuts without eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. So, does it mean there is something wrong with my body or just with me haha. What would you recommend? Because in this case tip #10 definitely doesn't work since nuts are a healthy fat and they are good for your skin and so on

this was so so helpful!! I hate how other fitness youtubers count their calories but still eat unhealthy foods just because it fits their macros🙄 you've honestly inspired me so much and like you said when your beginning to not limit yourself and that's where I've gone wrong. I feel like these tips are amazing for the vast majority of people, but id just like to point out that binge eating is also a form of an eating disorder that has many other elements to it! I love all your videos Sarah and this one is no exception, but just pointing out that these tips won't help someone with binge eating disorder. If anyone is suffering from this mental condition pls go and seek professional help xxxx

I dont think she is meaning to speak to people with sever binging eating disorders.... people without serious eating disorders can struggle with occasional binging, i think thats more the audience she is going for... its still called binge eating so not sure what you expect her to call it....

Heyy:) About tip ten: I have depression and anxiety and emotionally eat. So, I'll be stressed out and totally binge on food, especially carbs. But then, when it's time to be better about my lifestyle, when I realize what I'm doing, I won't feel the motivation to be better, cause I kind of feel like I deserve the pain. I know it's not a healthy mindset, I know exactly how to eat to be healthy, but I literally have no self control. Can anyone share tips? ((And no, I refuse to go vegan. I've tried that style of eating and it does not agree with my body. I need lots of protein and healthy fats.))

I had some problems with the mindset as well, what really helped me was talking with people about it. Like really admitting it made me forgive myself in some way. It costed me 3/4 years before I got on this point, it really is a journey so don't beat yourself up if it doesn't work out immediately. I don't know if you get professional help but try to find a way to let all the stress and bad thoughts go. It doesn't matter if it's a therapist or just writing it down or yoga or anything. But if it's really bad I would recommend going to some sort of a therapist. After all, how could you take care and love your body if you can't love your own soul.

ADD is attention deficit disorder... people with ADD or ADHD have a hard time concentrating. It is not only in kids, but adults too. I have ADD, and I have a difficult time paying attention while reading, or listening to someone talking. so ya.

You should turn the stuggle around and be grateful that you 1) Have a car to put all your things in and don't need to take public transport to Kurts and 2) That you have all this stuff in the first place. So many people in this world don't even have a roof to sleep under! Be grateful x Thanks for the tips I'm addicted to your channel

Today I feel like I had a win Went to the movies with friends everyone had big buckets of popcorn, I took a blue dinosaur bar and snacked on that It felt indulgent I was satisfied and i kept true to my health goals. Thank you Sarah for the inspiration

J's Journey I remember that she started counting macros, because​ I actually went out and bought a food scale and got MyFitnessPal because of her earlier videos. while she definitely is more toned than she was at the start, and she doesn't recommend that anymore, I still count macros and weigh my food. "intuitive eating", in my opinion, is only for people that are very health conscious and can really eyeball how much protein, carb and far intake they need in a day. if you are prone to eating disorders, than it might not be wise to count macros, but I really enjoy what it teaches me about how much protein and fat I Should be eating

J's Journey in other words, I eventually intend to stop counting macros, once I have a better handle on how much protein and carbs to eat. "intuitive eating" would not lead me to fruit and nut mix at this point, or one of her beautiful salads. it would lead me to cake, cheese and bread 😂😂 still trying to curb this and eat more Paleo

SAMIAM yea I started counting my macros because she did . I mean I was already thinking of it and she made it easy to understand.. and now she's not 😒... it's all good food is just overwhelming good and hard to understand ... all I know is vegetables and protein are key ... especially if I'm lifting

This was great video with great tips but I almost decided to skip watching it. This might be just me, but might also be for others: your video titles are somehow always close to the topic you'll cover in a video, but also missed. They sound unattractive, although I'm interested in the topic. If this video was titled "How to eat intuitively" or something like that, I'd be here in no time. This way I was like "I don't have issues with binge eating so..." I love your personality and sense of humor, I loved the video, just please do something about those titles. They always seem like some magazine headline that I already saw and read 6726699 times, while actually, you provide interesting and somewhat unique content.

I really really really need to start watching every single one of your videos again. I was doing so amazing on my journey when I was frequently watching you. I've unfortunately gained twenty pounds in the last two months and I need to get back into the swing of things. You honesty feel so much healthier and vibrant when you eat good! You really inspire me because you are not only super positive and wonderful but you are one of the very few honestly healthy youtubers! I feel like a lot of people, even really aesthetic ones, aren't necessarily healthy. You eat rich foods that are amazing for us. You really inspire me and I hope I will eventually get to where you are at and where I was at a couple months ago!

This is the first 'diet' video I've watched where I don't feel so overwhelmed and forced to do things which I know is not right for my body. I love your style of listening to your body and not counting calories , its so refreshing and doesn't feel like a diet but an attainable lifestyle. I usually hate watching diet videos they make me feel like i'm doing everything so wrong. Thankyou.

LOVED this video! it was such a relief to hear Sarah address healthy fats and having to overcome the fear of healthy fats leading to weight gain, because it's something I worry about all the time. I'm going to strive to incorporate more healthy fats into my diet to curve my cravings!

I eat very clean being that I suffer from acne and acid reflux, but I have the hardest time with portion control. Thank you for these tips. Ever since I've been watching your videos they've helped me not see food as the enemy. And your sister's tip number 10 is spot on. I'm not concerned about losing weight at the moment so I stay focused by reflecting on how unhealthy foods make me feel on the inside and what it does to my skin, especially when I'm around people who don't have the same mindset about me.
