Great video. I really like it when you make these longer videos where you explain in more detail. I followed along and understood to where I think I can do it now.
no shade just a quick note . if you use a carabiner for spar cinching like the quickie , always always face the gate side up . never set it facing down toward where your weight will be hanging . great video man ive watched a bunch so far im taking in all the good info i can and you definitely provide some . keep up the good work and God bless 🙏
Merci d'avance JLDP

Maybe you can answer a question for me. I don’t understand why equipment that is supposed to protect your life, such the quickie and ultra link are designed so minimally. It looks like something much heavier duty could be manufactured that has locking mechanisms that you simply don’t have to worry about. A heavy duty Clevis is what comes to mind with a screw-in pin. Take the slic pins on the quickies. Rather than worry about orientation in the tree, why don’t they make a product that protects the pin so a climber doesn’t have to be concerned. Same thing with ultra link. Sometime simplicity is best.
Yes they are minimal but the are strong rated and on the minor access 15kn which is around 3,337 pounds and major access 30kn or 6,744 pounds and the Ultra link with the shive in is rated a 40kn = to 8,992 pounds. When you are climbing small and light weight are good attributes.
@BinoH after learning how to replicate the running butterfly, I was hanging comfortably in the spar of my tree 🌳 with both a running butterfly 🦋 and the running bowline 🪢. Thanks again 👍
