This is an indoor crafters dream tool!! Spray paint? Glitter? Spray adhesive? The nocbox got you covered... Literally. It'll "NOC" back your potential for mess by 98%! (I don't own one but I can just tell it'll be good for this! Lol )
It's funny, your grow instructions just say to cut a slit in the bag and leave it open to air with no filter or any kind of protection from airborne contaminates...
Because at that point in the process it's not as vulnerable to contamination and can fight it off on its own. Inoculation and spawning is the most vulnerable time... and that's bag tech, the simplest of the simple.
I think it’s kind of silly that you’re promoting that I’m sure you got a nice kickback for but in nature mushrooms grow out in the open and I’m sure they’re exposed to plenty of things and they’re not protected. They also grow in the dark and they also require it to be dark, dark and damp for them to thrive So for me, this is unessential
The sun kills off contams in the wild; where the mycelium gains a foothold wherever it so happens to. But most amateur mycologists want to make their own spawn, do agar work, grain-to-grain transfers, etc. All things that will fail if mold spores etc get the upper hand. You're right that this exact product isn't needed though. Most people just cut a couple holes in a big clear tote box instead of paying $80+. It's also better not to have tight fitting arm holes like what's shown in the vid. If the box makes a seal with the arms then it's more likely to stir up the air. Same reason why gloveboxes aren't preferred! TBH, I'd still buy this if I had money to burn. So long as I could figure out a way to get the wrinkles out of the viewing area 😅
When you grow in an artifical environment it's essential to be sterile otherwise mold will overpower the mushroom mycelium. When outdoors it's different because the mushroom will grow where ever it can get a foothold aka not an area overwhelmed with mold, does that make sense? A SAB is absolutely essential with indoor cultivation, but if you want to criticize the product it has glove inserts which is considered outdated tek. It creates a vaccum anytime you insert and remove your arms, so just having large holes in a room with no drafts is better. Also put a damp paper towel on the bottom and a cookie rack on top of that to raise your work over the area where everything drops down.
"it's kind of silly that you're promoting that I'm sure you got a nice kickback for" I'm confused: are you not aware that this product is made and sold by NorthSpore, the company whose channel this is??? There's no "kickback", they make all the profit from sales of this product. I'm confused how you ended up here in the first place -- based on the rest of your comment, you clearly don't know the first thing about mushroom cultivation. I'm just overall really confused by your comment lmao
