Follow Me On Twitter! / hensama24 In this series, I take a look at all of the localization differences between Rockman.EXE and Mega Man NT Warrior. This video focuses on Episodes 41 - 47, what I call the Net City Finale Arc.
I remember being confused as all hell at that racing episode, cuz it featured the Cutman Brothers, despite the episode where they were introduced initially being skipped. The racing episode just treated it like we were supposed to know who they were, as if I had seen the previous episode, but I hadn't.
With them removing so much footage of Gauss crossdressing, I'm starting to think he was a major contributor in Stream not getting localized. Keep up the great work! Congrats on 10k subs, by the way!
Lots of early dubs on TV did that to a certain degree. The 90s Early Sailor moon dub had skipped episodes due to violent nature , last minute rushing, and Many more. Windman is localized as windblaatman on the toy packages.
The BN5 remake for the DS has an unused voice line for "Double Soul, Moltanic Soul!" which is the closest he was to being called MoltanicMan in the English games, he's always been NapalmMan in the games.
The leftout goofs are funny, and how they sometimes forget to censor this and that, and how some of the „cleaned” text is still somehow visible when a character walks past by lmao
EXTREME yikes at the subtitles in 46 where Maddy slaps Gauss. She actually just calls him an idiot/fool/stupid, the fact that the subbers decided to imply she was being homophobic at him is really, uh, cringe. I think it's important to point out that fan-subbers are prone to lots of downfalls just as dubbers are. Lots of weird, inaccurate subtitles throwing in really extreme curses and weird stuff like this for no reason! It's so bizarre for me to be watching something in Japanese, hear dialogue, and read the subtitles that are just... completely inaccurate.
I always figured that was probably the case (especially for this particular episode, yikes), it's good to have confirmation that the subtitles were not accurate at all in this particular situation. Some people complain about dubbers inserting their own biases and opinions, but clearly a lot of subbers can and are guilty of the exact same thing. Or rather, I feel like these subtitles here were a result of some subbers being, REALLY not happy with Gauss being a crossdresser. That's how it comes across to me at least. :/
This was early 2000's. People weren't as cool with people being gay back then as they are now. The simpsons would call them fruity and manybother shows did similar things. Even today, a large portion of the world is still very anti gay. Many simply put up with it and if the political climate as flipped, they'd be purely anti gay. The world is slowly changing for the better, which is good and seeing these changes in my lifetime keeps me hopeful that people will be tolerant and peaceful towards each other, even if it's not heartfelt and simply to "avoid being canceled" because being mean for no good reason should warrant an appropriate response.
@@iNCoMpeTeNtplAySoh stop being a softy. Everyone should be made fun of as long as it’s funny. Of course not everyone will laugh but if the majority laugh who cares about the 1% who didn’t find it funny. We just need to be respectful to the others by not harming them cuz it’s not that serious how they wanna live their life.
@@Exclusive1011111111i agree everyone should be able to make fun of others but not for something they cant control, like who they love or who they are if it doesnt harm anyone, nothing softy about that
So basically they removed most of the comedy, risks and rewards for the characters? Ok fuck that. Thank god i can understand Japanese. Oh and that thumbnail bro if also true then isn't turning the sword from a physical object that Rockman ( yes i call Megaman by his intended original name bite me) can interact with to a fucking light saber makes it even more scary. Good job.
Hey things that’s not normal will still get made fun of. That’s the world we live in. Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes u gotta remind people the things they do is kinda fucked up
@Devin S. I saw a clip from there channel and one of the characters said “pi**ing me off” forgive me for saying that so Crunchyroll is doing mature quotes and lines so it’s not childish dub like 4Kids
I'm a girl and I like to wear men's cargo shorts sometimes when I need better pocket space than what most women's clothing allows for, so I can't describe how infuriating this piece of information was for me
