Here in latin america, the nicktoons version was dubbed and that's ruined the series, never was redubbed, and its sad because i loved dbz kai, but the only option its see it in japaneese, the dub it's good but it no has the original voices of the original dbz, the voice of picolo for example was very similar to the english dub. Sorry for my english im studying the lenguage
I remember that when I was a kid it confused me when I saw burner man just popup in the final battle and most of the characters were saying that they already beat him despite the fact that we never saw the episode where mega man did delete him. Not to mention the windsoul and wood soul inconsistencies really made me wish that the dub could have at least tried to at least dub those episodes. That said I am glad that the moments of the doggo being in pain were not kept in the dub thank God.
You kinda know what can they censored -no impact -no sharp weapons -blur the graphic part -changed to English words -no pointing guns at the audience 👍 -no self advertise -no blushes? I don't mind these changes but why do they have to remove some frames and labels lol
I'm baffled why they keep removing Roll Soul. Was it like "eww, crossdressing is somehow not family friendly!" Cos that'd make zero sense when the outfit isn't girly at ALL. It's just pink lol? Does that mean if you slapped a pink filter on any of the other ones they'd get censored too?
That very well COULD be the case, considering how much screen time of cross-dressed Gauss was trimmed in the dub over all. In Commander Beef Returns, when he changes, the added in a line of dialogue where he mentions the cleaners "messed up his order", and this wasn't meant to be his villain costume, despite him also having it in the earlier episode "Working For Grave".
They were probably afraid conservative soccer moms would say it was promoting being gay or trans or something even though that's a pretty ridiculous conclusion to come to. 4Kids took absolutely no chances though
This and Wood Soul, which is considered the rarest figure out there. I have a theory since that the Wood Soul introduction episode never aired in english, production of Wood Soul MegaMan might've halted but some of the remaining figures that were made still released.
@@gundambassexe31 Absolutely, NT warrior was handled very poorly by Kids WB, with skipped or out of order episodes, slipshot marketing and repeatedly changing time slots. And with Pokemon and Yu-Gi-oh being the big hitters it was only seen as a slot warmer.
@@gundambassexe31 indeed it was the same would happen with Fox Kids until Disney bought Saban taking Digimon, and the block itself being taken over by 4kids becoming Fox Box. But the one anime that had worse was oddly Hamtaro, that series was doomed from the start despite it's marketing from Cartoon Network.
10:36 My head cannon is that he could always do that and just hear me out... maybe he lost that ability over time (like he just forgot that he could even do it) until we get to the events of Sonic Unleashed when he relearns this as power as a werehog? Howling hedgehog? But, seeing as that he was a werehog to perform the arm stretch, he goave himself some sort or variation of a mental block ( like Superman thinking he needs to eat and drink food and liquids to sustain himself when in reality, he just needs solar energy) so now out favorite Blue Blur believes that he MUST be in werehog form to perform the elastic arm maneuver... But, that's just me having fun with cartoon logic.
The redone score and edits is probably a combination of the FCC, licensing, and appealing to global audience outside of non English speaking territories outside of asia.
Nicktoons was what got me head-over-heels for this show, if they hadn't censored it, my parents probably wouldn't have let me watch it. They didn't even want me watching Power Rangers. It feels silly seeing the changes as an adult, but if it weren't for them, I probably wouldn't have fallen in love with the show.
I'd like a "Final Edition" of Z Kai done as a Box Set. It should definitely be refitted to JUST be called "Dragon Ball Kai" It should be edited down from the 167 episodes to 150 even episodes or at LEAST 160. It should end before the "time skip" stuff at the end, in order to properly set up and transition into Super more effectively. And they need to do address the score. The Final Chapters has a score from Sumitomo...so that's fine. But for episode 1-98...they need to do a combination of the following: -Fit the Kikuchi score and various insert songs and tracks into their proper placement within the series to better match Z. -Put a Sumitomo score on all 98 episodes -Sort out whatever issues that need to be sorted out to pair the Faulconer music with the entirety of Kai
This is great! I'm surprised anyone remembers this (Every time I mention it to someone they have no idea what I'm talking about!). I LOVED this series so much as a teen (I'm 46 now). I played the series on my NES hardcore! (I'm female too, btw). So happy to see more fans of this series! I used to watch this series along with Mysterious Cities of Gold and Spartikus and the Sun Beneath the Sea! I got to see the Japanese episodes a long time ago because at a comic convention in Chicago (in Rosemont) a vendor was offering the bootlegged series on DVD for purchase and I jumped at it since I had no idea that there were more than 13 episodes release!
Basically, the kanji for the word "baka" means "horse and deer". That means someone who's quick-witted (like a horse) can somehow irritate others (like how deer hit hard with their antlers).
