Ideas sleet through the universe, passing through most things, but every once in a while they hit the right neuron in the right brain at the right time, and that's how we got pre-sliced bread. Heavily paraphrased from Terry Pratchett, but I'm convinced that's actually how they work.

That's pretty great that you guys have so many ideas; it does, however, remind me of a story my wife told me: apparently, she ended up crying when she was younger because her mom told her that she would never be able to read every book in the world! Hopefully y'all will be able to at least follow through with your favorite ideas! I personally hope that self-driving cars never truly take over, or at least not until after I'm off the road; I love driving way too much to ever want to give it up! I can understand how some people would want/benefit from them (whether just to improve their productivity or because they're bad drivers, ha ha!), but I'll never purposely buy one! As for an automated home, as long as it self-cleaned, I don't think I would need any other feature!

I know this video is a few months old but I'm just now watching it, I'm slowly watching these videos from beginning to end. In Jurassic Park, the vehicles on rails were Ford Explorers and the Jeeps were the vehicles they used to drive around the grounds. Katelyn I would LOVE to have a Jurassic park Jeep.

I commute to work daily. Being able to nap, watch RU-vid on my phone, or get extra work done would be the most wonderfully practical miracle ever... I can't wait for the future!

I think the thumbnail plays heavily into whether a video gains traction. That fan and "we destroy this" text was incredibly eye catching and draws not only new people in, but also draws regular viewers to the video faster. You end up getting views quickly, which I think RU-vid relies a bit too much on when deciding what gets a boost in the algorithm.

That's very true, the thumbnail is huge! Sometimes we knock out thumbnails fast but sometimes it takes us hours because we wanna get it right

Without a doubt I would choose food for everyone, total nobrainer. Food is a necessity, internet is a convenience. Again nice show, people get to know you better and better. Please continue in that path. 👍👍👍

So I have to ask, have you guys tweaked your home to make tall workspaces? I'm 6'6" and my wife is 5'3" so after 10 years we're starting to look at putting in new counters and workspaces that will be easier to use at altitude. We're both makers (cosplay for her, everything else for me =D ) so it occurred to me that you all might have some cool ideas about what works and when it's worth putting the extra effort and cost into boosting things. Any thoughts or upcoming videos on that? In case, thanks for all the great work...we never miss an episode!

We haven't really but we're lucky that we don't have particularly low counters like a lot of older homes do. But the workshop is doing more Evan sized (sometimes I have to stand on a booster to do certain things haha). We did think about making an adjustable height workbench someday...

It depends a lot on the video but I'd guess about 16-40 hours or so

I would take the 15 inches more omg. I am a man of 5'2''', so I have a lot of feelings about this conversation XD. Although I do believe Evan when he says his height is inconvenient. There are for both options, just not the same. You could get to climb the counters or the tablets at the grocerie store to reach stuff, I can confirm you that tho lol.

a) With the completely automated voice controlled house -- think about it -- you can never go to the dentist, because when you return, your house will not understand what you are asking it to do or know who you are. "Alxmmmqqqa opppunnnnnnn tttththththththt durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr." Think about it. What if it is raining? Law of unexpected consequences. What if your house calls the police? b) OK, second. If the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem is going to look like a nail. Think about it, here is a hypothetical. On parents night, your child's first grade teacher asks "what are you doing about your child's slight lisp?" AND you pull out a giant hammer. Go with the big hammer for the dramatic effect. Take it with you everywhere you go. Give it a name and inscribe that name on the hammer. Include the word "software" in that name. But also, don't ever get an ingrown toenail....... Ah, Ok. I will be quiet. Put the hammer down.
