How We Met | The TRUE Story

I met my husband 54 years ago at a local Dairy Queen, we had a couple of dates but then I moved, we lost touch for 5 years, met up again, and married, next year will be our 50th Anniversary, life is kind of crazy isn't it? I'm very happy the two of you met, you are such a sweet couple!

Your meet-up story is so heartwarming! I LOVED listening to it. My (now) husband and I meet on an "app" of the time in 1994...which was the personals ad of a local newspaper (I kept a copy). The "app" involved just us being able to talk over the phone.....for around 5 months. We went on our first date on March 24, 1994, and we just hit it off as the culmination of all-night phonecalls....he was a concierge who worked the night shift, and I was an office clerk at the time. When he completed his shift, he would leave work and call me when he got home to continue our phonecall. When same-gender marriage became legal in Hawaii (December 1993), I asked him if he wanted to get married, and he gave an unenthusiastic "Sure" (he was doing P90X at the time). So I planned on going to the Department of Health to start the process of getting a marriage certificate, found an officiant to "do the deed", and we got married on the 20th anniversary of our first date. We've been together now for 29 years, 5 months, and 27 days and we are still happily married and together. I know this may sound a little "off", but when people ask me how do I know I actually love him, I tell them I'm like a little puppy that furiously wags his tail and wants to leap up and down whenever I see him....when he gets home from work....when I first see him in the morning.....when he goes to another room to do something, then comes back to the family room.....wag, wag, wag, leap, leap, leap.....even now. Sigh....life is good.

This is so wholesome. Thank you, gentlemen for helping break gay stereotypes. Show the world that two men can be soulmates and commit to one another ❤

Don't go chasing for love, it's found when you least expect it. You just have to go with the flow and relax, whatever is meant to be will be. This is what people should take from this story, I certainly did.

I love this! We need more app success stories. I hear guys say "we met at a bar" and then look at each other stuttering when I ask which bar. I had an amicable breakup because we were both working and traveling a lot. We figured we'd come back together once we'd reached out career goals so I decided to start my hoe phase and signed up for an app. This guy hit me up and I immediately told him that I wasn't looking for a bf and he said that he wasn't either. We went out to a bar and then back to his place. It was nice. I logged on the next week and he wanted to go have dinner. Fine, not really "hoe phase-like" but okay. This man occupied all of my pre-planned hoe days until I realized that I was in a full blown relationship. As of today my hoe phase has been delayed for 7 years and counting 😂.

So sweet! Also, from a production standpoint, get a couple lavs for videos like this where y'all are sitting and discussing. They don't have to be excessively expensive but they are fantastic at "focusing" the audio and cutting out the echo and reverb, which can be quite sharp and "tinny".

RU-vid must be lucrative when 2 healthy grown men can quit their jobs and create videos for social media all day.
