Mina Aoyama is entertaining, until she starts reduces the female characters to lesbian waifu bait. It's so weird some of these yuri shippers think a female character, despite all her strong backstory, is waifu bait when a male romantic interest in the picture. But if the same character appears along with another female character, they'll be like, "Yaaaaaaas, queen slay!" Make it make sense. I don't assume there's romance present between two characters until there are clear indications. These shippers are a weird breed of people.

the funniest, and maybe sadest, part of this whole thing is that while Mina had been fetishizing any possible chance for a yuri ship with Firefly for awhile, she had the VA of Seele on her stream while they talked about and watched some of the Firefly trailers and Seele's VA mentioned that she didn't like how much of a waifubait character they had presented Firefly as in the beginning, and Mina just said something like "true true, I agree!" the whole time 😂 I'm almost certain she only came out as critical of firefly's presentation because it's the opinion of her friend that transplanted onto her. Mina seems to be leaning more and more into her yuri shipper persona and her reactions, in my opinion, have been getting more and more over the top and exaggerated. This felt like a moment of honesty off stream, which makes what she does on stream seem less exaggerated and more fake. Just recently, during the 2.3 livestream, Jade touched Topaz's cheek for 2s and Mina lost her mind, gushing about how they're in love and having sesbian lex. For her to go to her alt account on twitter and complain about how Firefly smilling at Caelus is character reducing when the thing she wants most is for Firefly and Robin to kiss (something nonsensical and actually character reducing) shows that she never cared about the characters' integrity and just wanted her own yuri preferences to be reaffirmed. The hipocrisy is so blatant that it physically hurts.

There are two types of voice actors: the ones who already had a streaming/online career before they blew up as voice actors and then the ones who never had an online presence. The latter ones are the "problem" because once they blow up/get famous they transition into online content creating, like streaming, thinking it should be easy enough since they already got a following from twitter or whatever. That is where the burn happens because they have no idea what awaits them and they burn and start doing dumb shit, they have no idea how to handle an online community.

I’m actually a fan of Mina’s and even I thought it was a pretty L take on her part. Did she deserve to get blasted on Twitter for it? I mean, anytime you put your opinion on Twitter, someone is going to blast it. Unfortunately for her, she grossly underestimated just how much in the minority her own take was. I don’t have a problem with her yuri baiting, but her logic regarding the Firefly trailer was just so hypocritical. Hell, she would have been just better off saying, “I would have preferred it was Stelle there at the end instead of Caelus.” At least that would be in-line with her yuri baiting tendencies. Instead, she decided to practically elude to it being about toxic masculinity ruining Firefly’s character when that was the worst take she could possibly have. The moment was very much in-line with Firefly’s character and personality and Mina in the long run was just upset Hoyoverse decided to use Caelus instead of Stelle because of her sexual preferences. I do think it was a learning and growing moment for Mina. It wasn’t anything she deserves to get “canceled” over (I hate cancel culture regardless of people’s opinions), but I do hope she learned to think before she speaks or at least be cognizant that her opinion might get some backlash.

Having an opinion is quite literally the opposite of being neutral. Whenever someone says, "I don't judge" I stop then and say, "Yes you do." Everyone does. It is a foundation block of higher thinking. Even if you're indifferent towards a situation, you are quite literally making a choice to be indifferent. No action is still action. True neutrality only occurs through ignorance and a lack of awareness to a situation.

On a quick note, talking about how shipping fandoms always view every interaction with romantic/sexual implication. This is why me as a person will always view any interaction towards me with neutral/platonic/friendly/idiotic intentions, because the whole song and dance of "was it platonic, was it romantic" is exhaaaausting. I do believe that you can understand things on a deeper level if you allow yourself to watch and listen to a person and character as a whole, rather than take tiny moment's and try to spin a narrative that come's at the cost of common sense.

It is insane how you can sometimes perceive what the vtuber behind the mask feels despite not showing her real face. I suspected she hated it because she didnt even say anything at the moment she saw it, and boom, moments later she tweets that shit.

Now, see, here's the thing, i don't self-insert, even in gacha games (yeah, weird), and even if i disliked Firefly as a character, i'd still want her to have a deeper relationship with the Trailblazer because it would be such a breath of fresh air to gacha game stories. And honestly, come on, let's not lie to ourselves, the "canon" has never stopped shippers. Even if TB had a romantic partner, people would still ship them with other characters anyway. I don't care about gender or sexuality or appeal or whatever, i just want a gacha MC to have a legitimate lover for once.

Shipping culture is some of the most toxic and destructive things in a community. I moderate multiple large anime series on discord and reddit and have *extremely* strict rules about "shipping." I have watched several fandoms implode due to shipping culture and hate it with a passion. RWBY and MHA are among the worst examples. This is one of those incidents that can cause an implosion. Shipping also causes community segregation, where people can get ostracized for liking different things, causing massive amounts of split, and when a side has a majority, the other side feels oppressed. All-in-all, stuff like this is just asking for trouble.

Yeah, let's be real, we are definitely gonna forget about this stuff sometime in the future. Honkai and Genshin are games meant to have pretty ladies and handsome men. You either want to ship them with others or ship with yourselves. Which is meant to be all fun and can be cute in stuff like fanfiction, fan art, whatever as long as it's just that, your opinion and headcanon. If you like shipping Caelus with Firefly, cool. If you ship Stelle and Firefly, that's cool too. If you ship Acheron with either Caelus, Stelle, or even Black Swan, that's cool too. The only thing is that if you don't like certain ships or characters that someone else likes, don't be a dick about it. Like, I personally feel like if you hardcore don't like certain characters or ships for like a small reason, that's too much. They are literally meant for you to basically invest and buy them at the end of the day. I think when it comes to Mina is that she kinda is falling to the category where she is taking her own headcanons to seriously and that lead to a bad take which ended up backfiring on her and just makes her out to be hypocritcal. Like Again your allowed to like what you like, but just don't take it where you end up hating something because it doesn't align with what you like. We as fans like to think that people who play games are pretty chill and understanding people, but then when someone like Mina with a decent following makes a post like this, it is just very disappointing. We know that her opinion would be different if it was Stelle, but when she follws that tweet where she says she wouldn't have liked it when with stelle either when she does act...lets say fanatic when it comes to anything close to yuri shipping like that Stelle and Firefly hangout, does show clear bias. Whenever Stellaron Hunter mentioned in the story or any other media, I can only picture Kafka, SW, Blade and Elio in his cat form. My opinion about opinions is that they're valid until they're hypocritical. When it comes to shipping. I typically don't do that much anymore. I do delve into narrative speculation which sometimes overlaps with it since like it or not character relationships are important to the narrative and can directly influence it, but outside of that I mostly just stick to liking fan art I think is cute. I love speculation for the sake of speculation even if I'm wrong like 1/3rd of the time. Gets my imaginative juices flowing. xD For me the narrative for HSR feels like they are building up FF to be a lost loved one. She has way too many death flags. I can see her coming back and her death becoming a catalyst for the Nihility path is a route I can see them going since loss and nihility has lots of overlap. I still think there is also a lot leading to me thinking they have plans between TB and Kafka. Just the common literary tropes, multiple references to romance literature, character dialogue, etc makes me think HYV are planning something long term with Kafka.

Caring so much for what one person's ships when that's the whole point of gacha games is insane when people do this all the time with every single gacha game.
